My Verizon is up,so sick of $300 a month for three smart phones and one voice only. After the contract is up, what are the options if any exist to a monthly plan. Hoping for something my Verizon phone can use for $50 a month.
Is it possible?

Page plus?

I love straight talk but I'm not sure you can bring verizon phones. My phone is an AT&T iPhone.

That IS a lot! We also have 3 smart phones, with one additional old fashioned phone. Our bill is 259. I wonder why yours is more?

Ask Verizon if you can switch to something better. DH is with them with an iPhone and in the last year I was able to change his $80 plan to a $60 plan that actually had more data and still had unlimited talk and text. Seems like that plan was $60 for the first smartphone, $40 each additional, and $30 for additional basic phone. Don't know how much data you want though. But just check with them. Tell them you'll go elsewhere if necessary.

I have the Edge plan 10 G for $160, one iPhone on the Edge with 64 g mem and insurance on the IPhone. There is no contract, it's pay by the month with a yearly upgrade. They said upgrading to the Edge plan would give me the 10 G instead of the 6-8 I normally had, pluse the Edge had a rebate each month toward the new iPhone. Salesperson stated instead of the $227 my bill would be $247. Yea, before the fees and taxes! I was so ticked. They got past the month by saying it was a mid month adjustment prorated. That month bill was $400+.

I have to keep the Edge plan 10 G as long as the new iPhone is on it. That is a no contract phone though. All phones but dh basic talk are off contract.

My adult ds phone uses 7+ G a month. He pays his own portion. Yea, when I get it......he could find his own plan.

We FINALLY upgraded our 4 Verizon stupid phones a week ago today for 4 Smartphones. Our bill is going from $130 a month to $215 a month. Unlimited text and talk, 5 Gigs shared data. Not sure how it's possible to be paying $300 a month.

If you have been with Verizon for a while you may qualify for the Loyalty discount. I am paying $60 a month for one smart phone with a data plan.

I had to call and specifcally ask for the loyalty plan

Page Plus as somebody has mentioned already is a good option. Also, Verizon prepaid seems pretty good too. It's like $45 a month for unlimited talk and text. 500mb data, but doubles if you auto pay.

We are going to switch from Verizon Plan to Verizon prepaid. $45 per line plus 1 GB data per phone if y.ou have it paid by CC. For $5 or $10 you can add additional data.

This. 3 of my 4 phones are on the loyalty plan, 1 on the edge since it was still under contract.
Rep noted I technically have been with Verizon 10 years longer than the company has existed. I was Pactel, who got bought up by Airtouch who got bought up by Verizon. DW and I have had the same cell phone numbers for 24 years.

I was paying $227ish before checking on the Edge plan for the 3rd iPhone 5s 64g. The Edge plan alone is $160. I have to pay toward the new Edge IPhone. There was to be a rebate offsetting the cost, nothing out of pocket. Then there is two insurance plans a month.

The sales man assured me it would only go from the $227, to $247. But, what he didn't say is the $247 was before insurance plans, taxes and fees.

I am not counting the $500 in taxes and up front costs on 3 of the phones. There are of course no up front fees on the Edge phone, but it adds $15 a month to my bill.
No insurance here, yet. My son assured me we could be better coverage from outside Verizon. But I tend not to get insurance on small things like phones. The insurance companies would be out of business if they didn't know the premium they charge will be far more than they ever have to payout.

Verizon Prepaid $45 plus 1 GB of data per phone plus no extra charges for taxes and fees. Even buying a cell phone, it is cheaper than a Verizon contract plan.

For those people who said they had for lines, total cost is only $180 a month total.

That would save me $35 a month or $840 over a 24 month contract. That's only enough to buy 2 decent smart phones. The contract deal is still cheaper by about $800

I have 4 iphones, unlimited talk and text and 10 gigs of data for 160.00 a month- I can't believe people are paying over 200 a month for that still.

Hundreds of dollars for a smartphone a month. Yeah we passed on that. Republic Wireless. $25 a month unlimited talk, text, data. $10 a month unlimited talk, text no cell data if you go that route (wifi data still works). Works awesome for us

There are plenty of prepaid monthly service plans like Pageplus, straight talk, etc that you can bring your iphone over to.... Now the 'big guys' are offering really good monthly deals too, contracts are going away fast:cool1:
That said, you have to learn how to turn data on/off at times in order to save $$$ I had to learn the details of all of that.... Since I have a Pageplus 30 per month plan on my iphone (verizon) that limits me to 500 mb of data per month....I learned what to shut off,and what to keep running so as not to go over......(yes, that amount is fine for 30.00,I don't need more)
This is what many people don't seem to understand, you can shut data on or off depending on how much you want to pay per month.:thumbsup2 And I can't even imagine paying so much for a cellphone...(but I'm old and cheap:lmao:)
