Saturday 16th August.

We were up and about at 9am today, ready to enjoy our last full day. We ate breakfast in the food hall, just cereal I think, then drove over to MK. As we drove in we were amazed how busy it was, we parked back in Daisy 31 and there are just people everywhere. As we arrive the rain starts as well!! We caught a tram to the ticket center, it’s raining really hard now and I decide to make a dash for it. Unfortunately I didn’t really how lethal crocs are in the rain and I lose my footing and land with a serious thud. In the first few seconds I think “ok, I’ve fallen, I’m fine, I’ll just get up” then I hear people round me gasping and running to me and realise I’m really not ok! I had winded myself and was having trouble breathing and my back was SO sore. The next thing I knew there was a CM with a wheel chair for me to recover in!! EEK. TBH, being typically British all I could think about was how embarrassed I was. A lovely American family were distracting Evie for us as she was getting upset. I insisted I was fine and headed up to the monorail. I was trying not to cry too much but not being successful. Once on the monorail Simon found me some painkillers in my bag. At this point we realised the monorail wasn’t moving, it had broken down, so I forced myself out of my seat and back out where we had to wait for half hour. Not a good start to the day! :sad1:

Once inside the MK I felt so miserable, I really tried not to, but my back was in agony. It wasn’t too long till our ADR for CP, so I send E and S off for a ride on IASW, whilst I went to the toilets for a good cry , then gave myself a good talking to and pulled myself together. S and E were ages coming back and it turned out that IASW had broken down for 15 minutes whilst they were queuing, it was to be one of those days!! :)

We then headed over to CP, which was heaving but the wait was only about 10 minutes in the end. The food here was great, like all the other buffets we’d had. As the restaurant was so busy it took ages for he characters to come round, but Evie loved meeting Piglet, Eeyore and Tigger. We had to give up on Pooh Bear as the wait was just too long. With a little food inside me I felt a bit better and tried my best to enter into the spirit of the day!

After Cp, we grabbed Fastpasses for Jungle Cruise, then Simon took Evie on The Crpets. We then went round to try POC as Evie was feeling brave and you guessed it, it had broken down! So we wandered over to watch SM and BTM for a while until our Fastpass time. The cruise was as funny as ever and I felt a bit more relaxed by now. POC had reopened after our ride so I finally got to see Jack Sparrow. I was concerned that Evie would hate it, but she was fine, didn’t love it either though!!! ;) as Evie was feeling so very brave we decided to chance HM which just had a 20 min wait. We got to the doors after about 10 minutes and waited and waited and waited. Finally someone came out to tell us, there was a technical hitch and the ride would be working again very soon! My painkillers had worn off at this point so I took some more and smiled through my pain!! We enjoyed HM as this was the first time we’d seen it since the refurb. After HM it was a final trip on IASW for the holiday (Thank goodness says DH!).

We were going to go into ToonTown again, but we were all alittle tired and grumpy so Simon offered to take Evie on the teacups while I did some shopping (the pain wasn’t that bad!!) I got myself a brown fleecy jacket that I’d had my eye on all trip, some tinkerbell earrings and some pens.

S and E met me after 3 goes on the teacups (!!) and we said a final farewell to MK, it really was a sad moment, leaving the park and again I had a little cry!

I just wanted to go back to the hotel and lie down, but Simon insisted that there was no point moping and we should go to DTD. I really was sore and cranky, but he drove us there anyway where I had my first experience of earl of Sandwich, all I can say is WOW!! :yay: We then went over to Ghiradelli (SP??) for an icecream sundae and a coke float. It all cheered me up no end!

Oh dear, how awful! Poor you! I bet that really hurt! All those rides breaking down was awful too. I'm glad you managed to enjoy some of the day though - the photos of Evie are great as always.

I slipped over in my crocs last year on my walk home from work when it had started to rain. I was really sore and felt so stupid as was thinking how can you fall over in flat shoes. Ever since then whenever it rains I walk really slowly and deliberately. I am now forever checking the forecast to see whether to walk with crocs or the croc boots if it is raining.

Such a shame to end your stay with a horrible day

Thanks for posting but so sorry the day didn't go as planned and hope you didn't suffer any long term problems with your back.

I cannot figure out whether Evie is pleased with the ice cream or thinking Óh my goodness do I have to eat that enormous ice cream´.:rotfl: The photos of Evie are so cute.
