After a good night's sleep we were ready for the highlight of the trip- The Grand Canyon!!! We went down to the pickup point where we were met by a black stretch limo, very nice!!! We were first in so had 10mins on our own with the limo driver giving lots of info about the history of vegas. We then picked everyone else up. We had the usual chat about whether we were from London, NO!How beautiful Britain was etc etc!!!
I was getting a bit nervous at this point cos I'd never been in a helicopter before, but was very excited as well. We had to be weighed so the helicopters were balanced, I didn't look at this bit!!!!! We were in a helicopter with another British couple who had got married the day before in the Paris. They wanted to sit together, so I sat in the back with them, while Si sat in front with the pilot. He loved this and looked just like a little kid!!!
I have to say being in a helicopter has to be one of the best things I've ever done, it was so cool!!!! It felt like you were going slowly, but were actually going 150mph (ish!) It was much smoother than I expected and I loved every second of it! We went over Lake Las Vegas which is v exclusive (Celion Dion stays there), over part of Lake Mead, Hoover Dam and then into the Canyon. JUST AMAZING!!! You can not put into words the beauty or scale of it. After a 40 min flight we landed in the Canyon and had a wander, then enjoyed a champagne lunch!! heaven!!! I was amazed at this point to realise that lots of people had been sick, even the girl in our helicopter and I hadn't noticed!!!! It was so smooth i hadn't been bothered by it at all. We then had a 40 min flight back and flew over the length of the strip. This really was the highlight of our trip, a really amazing experience.
That afternoon we wandered through the Alladin, Paris and the Bellagio. We then went ot the Mirage and saw Roy and Siegfried's famous white tigers at the secret garden there.
That evening we had a delicious meal at Circus, Circus Steak house. Which I would seriously recommend to anyone. It was recommended to me here on the boards and they were right!! We put a few dollars in the slots before bed. Would we have any money left for Orlando!!!???
