Verifying Florida AP?

We need to verify our Florida AP when we arrive--BUT won't be visiting the parks until our 2nd day. Can I verify the FL residency without activating--or do you do this on the day you want to activate??? We will be in DS that first night, so figured maybe go to Guest Relations down there, and get the verification out of the way--this way we can hit the parks first-thing our first day.

Disney Springs Guest Relations or we always go to the Ticket Center, not far from Guest Relations. It's always gone fast and smooth. We do it the night before our first park.
