Verandah Man Cruisin.

We had the meet at the Radisson Port Canaveral Pool last night. Those flying in around 5:00, had very bad weather and did not make it in til later (Andy got there about 8:30). It was so nice to meet some Diser's in person.
Andy didn't sleep last night and told me this morning, he kept looking out his window (he faced Port) and watched for the Magic to come in, and at 5:15am, he saw the Magic coming down the waterway. After 6:00am, the Carnival Glory blocked his view. That ship is massive.
We all chatted last night around the pool, Lisa, TriciaT, All shook up, and talking hands came down.
This morning we met BD by the pool, and Maleficient came from port to say hi.
I think Verandah Man is going to try very hard to stay off the boards until he gets home, so it shall be quiet without him.
Everyone was really excited this morning, and I sure wished I was going with.

It sounds like you all had a good time getting together last night! What a shame about the bad weather delaying their flights That's exactly why it's such a good reason to fly in the day before the cruise.

I can only imagine how excited Andy must be today! Hopefully he'll get on board, and relax and have fun for the rest of the week. He really deserves it.

My cruise is still a year away, but reading about all of you other DISers meeting and getting together is a lot of fun, and I hope to meet as many DISers as I can next year!!

So glad to hear that Andy made it ok. As excited as he was, I'm not really surprised that he didn't get any sleep. The Magic will gently rock him to sleep tonight.

I just checked the port web cam and it looks like it's raining. Sure hope it clears up for the sail away party on deck. But.......... Andy probably won't even notice the rain.

I can just feel Andy's excitement! He must be bursting right now! I'm going to try to get some screen captures of the ship on local6 and as it goes by Two Palms for Andy and gang.

Lynn...so happy you were able to meet up with everyone! I don't know how you didn't try to get on that sailing being so close and all!

Hey Lynn~ thanks so much for the Andy update!! We sure do miss him... I'm SO glad you were able to meet him & his family and BD, et al....

I KNEW Andy would be looking out the window for the Magic at 5am!!! Was he roaming the Radisson Halls all night??

Can't wait to hear from them!! But hope he DOES stay off the net during his cruise... he deserves this vacation!!

I just saw Andy on the twopalms cam! Looked a little cloudy and damp, but he looked like he was truly enjoying seeing everyone watching and waving at him.

I've had a great time today. While in line at the post office I thought, VM is getting his first view of the ship.

While in line at the college bookstore (which took forever) I thought VM and his family are busy eating shrimp. People looked at me funny since I had a "Far away" look on my face and I was drolling, thinking of cold mango soup.

In line to check out of Costco it was time for the DIS party.

If I can't be there myself, this has been a very pleasent way of spending a day of tedious errands.

Boy, was I tired when I came home yesterday, but I forgot to add a very important person to the list at the Radisson.
Shirley (from Perfect Gift) and husband, came down too with homemade Key lime pie (delicious) and a beautiful cake.

I think there are a great number of us cruising on land this week with Andy and his family. I can only imagine how they are doing.

That was so sweet of Shirley to stop by the Radisson to meet everyone. She is another one of the special people to those of us on theis board.

This might be a tad late, but I just stumbled across this thread while I was searching for something else, reading these post, so long after our cruise, brought back some "WONDERful and MAGICal" memories!!!
