Hi

Can any of you ladies help me by telling me which reception venues can be contracted at 12 months.

I know the convestion centres cant be contracted till the 8 months mark but I dont really know what reception venues these are.

We are trying to get a reception venue that we can contract at the 12 month mark as we are planning on going out a few weeks after our 12 month mark for the planning session as this is the only time we can fly over before the wedding.

Heidi at DFTW has already said about the living seas which at the moment is top of our list and also the American adventure parlour which looks kind of small from the pics she sent us.

We were looking at something a bit more disney as most of our guests have never been to disney let alone USA so we want them to think WOW thats a great place etc

I'm going to thank you in advance for your help and if you have any pics that would be great

When i had my planning session i was told it was pretty much anything that was actually inside a park!

Not sure but i think the ADH and Ariels might also be one of the venues?

We are holding our reception at the California Grill and we were able to book at 12 months out. That, plus the view of the MK, and it was a done deal for us :)

Ariels is one of the 12 month choices...we booked ours at the 10-month mark.

Hope this helps.

We were looking at ariels but have been told that it may not be part of the weddings next year when our wedding will be.

We were looking at the napa room but it has a $3000 min spend and we are only having about 25 people so dont really think we will meet that min spend on food and drink.

The napa room was our first choice because of the views but we are worried about the price as we only have a small number of guests

The minimum for the Napa room is only $1000 (unless they changed it recently.) We were originally booked for the Napa room, but went for our PS in January and saw it and decided to switch to the Cali Grill which increased our minimum to $3000.

Did your WC tell you that it might not be part of the weddings next year? I know that when we started looking at it, our WC told us that the B&Y Club had it blocked off, but she would ask if we could get it for our date (January 19, 2008). She was able to get it. Now, I don't know if towards the later parts of the year won't have that as an option...it does sound like they may be doing something with it in the near future.

The Napa room sounds wonderful if you can make it work for your group. It is something that I have been kicking around for the reheresal dinner...at least, if DF parents decide they want to host it...CG is one of my favorite restaurants and I imagine it would be totally incredible as a reception venue.

Good luck!

My understanding is that any venue that is in a park is 12 months out. We used CG as well as were able to book less than a year out. We did not sign our contract until September for our May wedding.

The napa room has a $3000 min after 5pm and the sonoma room has a $2000 min spend.

Does anyone know the difference between the two? or does anyone have any pics

Oh! That's why it's different. Our reception ended before 5:00. The Sonoma room is quite a bit smaller and the Napa room has a MUCH better view. The Sonoma room looks out the back over Bay Lake and the Napa looks over the Magic Kingdom. I have some Napa pictures from our PS that I could post, but no Sonoma ones.

This is the section of the CG that we switched to because the views were so much better. I think it's called Caracas or something like that :confused3

I am planning an in-park reception, but am not alowed to contract before 8 months. It depends on your ceremony site. At least that was what my guy told me.

Sarah - i think that is because you are using the Gazebo. The wedding ceremony location as well as reception location are combined when doing the contract i think. so that might be it.

does anyone have any pics of the sonoma room at the contempory resort?

I must admit I'm thinking can we just spend the extra money to make the min for the napa room but I'm not sure what goes towards the food and drink min, does the cake go towards that?

On 25 people how much do you think we will spend on food and drink? We dont want anything to fancy but nice food and we are not overly fussed on having an open bar as most of us dont drink so we were thinking that our guests could just pay for their drinks

The thing with using the Contemporary is that you have to use their pre-planned catering menus which are sort of 'fancy.' We had a hard time finding an option we liked, but they let us tweak one a little bit. Here is a link to the choices and that will give you a better idea of food cost. http://www.mousesavers.com/weddingrestaurants.html#califgrill

Wow the Napa room is beautiful... I would love to check out that venue for my parents VR
