Just spent part of our holiday with some relatives and once again I'm sooooo glad to be back home. :sunny:

These people, who of course are experts on EVERYTHING, :rolleyes2
make quick trips to the World frequently, as their son has now lived in the Orlando area for the past 2 years.

When we went on our trip last month, they gave us plenty of advice, (most of which was incorrect!) I know to come here and get opinions, information etc. from you guys, the DIS is the best.

Anyhow, I was talking with them earlier today, and they just got back from another week in Disney. They were talking about the tickets, and I asked if they have annual passes since they visit so much. Well, they looked at me as if I had 2 heads! "No, you can only get those if you are a Florida resident" they informed me. HUH???? :confused3

I was also educated about the biometric scan machines, and those also are only for AP holders.

Playing dumb, I just said oh, I didn't know that!

Only good thing is, maybe I've helped bring some entertainment into your day.

:sunny:

;) The world is full of them, huh?? It is frustrating to deal with them! I agree, this is the BEST place for info :cool1:

Aren't "know-it-alls" great? Makes you want to run and hide whenever they are around! And no matter what you share with them, or correct them (Heaven forbid!), they will always still try to top you! My sympathies are with you! :flower:

You have my sympathy. I work with a person who is also an 'authority' on EVERYTHING (did you know that the tree in Rockefeller Center grows there and isn't brought in annually  ). I, at least, can be thankful that I only work with this person and am not related, so I have a respite during the non-working hours.

Oh well, we all have our crosses to bear...

Chris

My Inlaws are like that, they visited last summer (thank god, we live a days drive away from them.) They had all the advice in the world to give us about our upcoming trip. * i love advice, and will take it willingly*, but its almost as if they give the advice to brag about what they do. Its annoying!
I am just grinning and bearing it for now, trying to push it aside. But just wanted to let you know you weren't alone! :mickeybar

I was trying to give some advice to someone who was taking their first trip to the World and a know it all had already gotten to them with all kinds of incorrect information....my first clue was when she told me that they told her not to take her kids to Epcot as it was just a bunch of nightclubs and partying on some kind of island. :earseek: How can people who have been there at all be this clueless first off and secondly how can they pretend to remember all the details so vividly that they must push this incorrect info on everyone. :wave2:

The worst part is that you know the newbies take any advice, even if it's incorrect. It's a shame that someone might miss EPCOT because someone else mixed it up with Pleasure Island! Perhaps you could just give them the Disney website?

Moral of the story: DO NOT travel to WDW with relatives or friends. They slow you down, do stuff you don't want to do, and make an enjoyable trip absolutely miserable (most of them do, anyway).

Oh now I've heard everything!! Tell your co-worker that I visit Rockefeller Center often, ain't no tree growin there!! :rotfl: People amaze me with the silly things they say or think. I was talking to one of my co-workers about my upcoming WDW trip and she mentioned how she liked Epcot better than Disney World......huh??? :confused3 :rotfl:

I have a co-worker who swore she was taking four people to WDW for a week on a $1499.00 special that included resort hotel, park hopper tickets, airfare, and food. She said her aunt found it advertized in the paper. When I gave her the information printed from the Disney website she still wouldn't admit she was wrong-her aunt saw a DIFFERENT ad!.

I was complaining about the heat the other day, and a coworker and I were joking that I would melt in the Florida July heat. My boss pipes in and says, "Well, it is hot in FL, but they don't have humidity like we do!" Hello, are you on crack???????????? :earseek: :earseek: She argued with me that there was no humidity in FL. So, I was just absolutely insisting that there was humidity and the only thing she would say was that the FL humidity is 'different' then the TN humidity.

You have certainly done that! Thank you, I love reading know-it-all who don't get it quite right stories!

So sorry to hear that you are happy to be back though, maybe next time you might have to 'forget' to tell your relatives you are going to the world? Or do what I would do and just lie!

Paul.
