venting about arena events.....

sorry to vent on such a rainy day I just returned from a convention held at an arena sized facility. I knew security was going to be tight, and we were informed that the largest item we could bring in was a small tote bag. When I got up to security they confiscated 2 small water bottles ( store bought see-through types) I had in my purse, calling them contraband The only reason they were "contraband" was the fact the arena wanted you to pay 2.25 for one of their water bottles. There wasn't enough staff at the concession stands, so the wait in line was 1/2 hour or longer Okay , vent over. Please resume regular programming.........

I need to look up the meaning of contraband, because water in a clear water bottle just doesn't seem to be "smuggled"

That is ridiculous. I know that I complained to the local minor league baseball stadium about not being allowed to bring in water. If they are not going to provide water fountains on a 90º night, how can they make you buy water. I wanted to pass out just to make a point.
