Venting about a CM at the Fort.

I agree Jim. Pay the ressie separately, no charging to your room key. No dining ressies to worry about and no charges. Fly by the seat of your pants and have a great time with no worries.

See, I knew someone was going to blow me out of the water. So Phyllis, you trying to tell me you didn't spend a good part of your day keeping track of meal credits and didn't end up on the last day grabbing anything you could at the hotel gift shop to use up snack credits?

I admit.. The first day or so...I was a nervous wreck when we first started using the plan. We had never used any type of dining plan in all the years we had visited Disney. I was worried that it would be a nightmare (too much time reading the Dining threads!:sad2: )...The fist day there, we waited for our rooms and went to the Roaring Forks. I was nervous as to how it would work. I checked everyone's receipts to make sure we were using it "correctly". I was making it WAY harder than it is. It really is pretty simple. It didn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that if we ate four counter services meals, we'd now have 24 left. In fact... if my younger two went off to the parks, I knew what they were eating. If we ate something in the resort or another park..and checked the bottom of the receipt, I would be able to tell by the credits left if the kids had a snack or a lunch while they were at the park. They couldn't LIE!
Luckily, I didn't experience ANYTHING like what the OP did, or I would have been a basket case.
I think the key is to check the receipt ..so if there is a problem..you're able to catch it right away.
I'd check a receipt whether I paid cash or used a credit card, to make sure it was correct.

As far as grabbing stuff on the last day..we took a couple of brownies for the plane. What can I say..we're pigs..we used all our credits. My daughter however..is "Miss Health and Fitness"..so she used her snack credits for fruit every morning. Damn kid.:sad2:

Dining Plan was not the problem...it was a hitch in the Disney's computer system. Never had a problem keeping track or making reservation. Used the dining plan over 6 times in the past 3 yrs. While taking family/friends in large groups of 8/14/10.

Plus, not being able to charge back to the room key also, another hitch in the computers....

Saw the otters at the Fort...maybe they got into the system and screw up my vacation!!!:rotfl2:

Rotten Otters!!!!

Ditto on ftwildernessguy except I pay for reservation with credit card and remainder of balance at check in. I always take my receipts and definitely bronze the receipt I get at check in. I never put a credit card on file for charges.
30+ years and not one problem.
As for dining plan, very lucky there as just use the Florida resident Tables whatever it is this year at the meal. Works great.

So sorry to hear so many are having difficulties. The Fort is suppose to be calm, relaxing and peaceful and they are suppose to have their act together.

I would contact Guest Relations, the big one, not Ft. Wilderness and express your displeasure with your experience. If enough folks complain, things might change. With the apparent difficult economic times lasting awhile, I would think more than ever, Disney will be listening.

Has anyone ever seen that back room.:confused3 Castmembers go through that door, and come back with "my manager says this or that"...Only WHAT is really back there? :scratchin I bet they're just sitting back there with their feet up on a desk, smoking smelly cigars and playing poker.

Every time the door opens they yell ..."tell them they have to pay !"

There is a small table and chair with a telephone that is a direct link to me. I make all final decisions when it comes to these controversial matters. Be nice to me.

By the same token...we know who to blame now!

Rotten Otters!!!!

I take issue with you blaming MY otters!! They are innocent I tell ya. It's the peacocks who mess with the computer systems. Otters will only steal unprotected beer.

Don't diss the Otters!!

You can see them from the marina early in the mornings...playing in Bay Lake.

we stayed for two weeks over the holidays. no problem with the room keys and charges....but because it was a last minute vacation the second week was individual reservations every night. now they kept us on the same site but checking in and out every day and getting new cards was the biggest pain in the butt. i wont do that again. and they informed us that every loop is dog loop when they are full....joy because our new neighbors` dogs barked everytime we went out our door. ugh so much for a nondog loop.

There was also a wild turkey that walk thru our campsite, and I don't mean the bottle kind.
