What else is the internet for??

I can't go "public" but I am very early on in pregnancy, which we are thrilled about.

It has had to be one of the most stressful periods of my life, and I've only known for a week!!

Are the numbers doubling?? Is this symptom normal?? Am I dying??

I have been 100% convinced I have been having a miscarriage 3 separate times.

I have thrown up, gotten the chills, gotten hot flashes, fallen dead asleep in the middle of the work day, had sudden attacks of rage....

I have obsessed over a can of tuna eaten and several doses of Advil and Lamisil taken before I tested positive...

HOW do people not go crazy over a period of 10 months???? I am going cuckoo!!!

Just wait until the baby is here! Having a child opens up all sorts of new worries and fears :scared1:.

Seriously though, congratulations!! :cheer2:

Hey you are not!

Everything you are feeling is normal ... and the sicker you are, the better (sorry about this). My biggest symptom was being tired. I would just dream of going home at work so that I could sleep ... and I would sleep from 5:00 until the next day (only getting up for dinner :lmao:)

Congrats!!

good luck and congratulations!!!

Congratulations!! And you are definitely normal. I am currently 30 weeks and now it is....hey I haven't felt the baby move in a while....is she napping....is everything okay? Why won't the little stinker move already? And although I don't know if everyone else is like this or not, but for me I don't know if she just moves less when I'm active or that I just don't notice it as much when I'm active....but we've been working on a storage shed and it seems like I always worry when I quit for the day because I haven't felt the baby move in a LONG time. So then I start questioning whether or not I should have been doing it :rotfl: There is always something to worry about. I won't go into the details of the situation (and I would do it again), but we took DD to the ER last night. The official diagnosis "parental concern"....so yep....it doesn't necessarily get better....but it is SO worth it :lovestruc

Congrats on being pregnant.

The end result is so worth all of it! :goodvibes

I can only agree with what everyone else has said-wait till that baby is here, then you'll REALLY know what it is to worry!!

But really, I was the same way. I tried for 9 months and when I was finally pregnant, I was scared to move. I followed "What to Expect When You're Expecting" to the letter and freaked if something didn't go the way it did in the book. I got myself so worked up at one point I was convinced I couldn't feel her moving and took myself to the hospital. :rotfl: Those 3-d sonograms are awesome!

And when you hit 9 months and feel like you're as big as a float in the Macy's Thanksgiving parade, you won't be worried, you'll be fed up with being pregnant.

I worried a lot during the first trimester with my first - almost everyone I knew who was pregnant had a m/c! I never knew how common they are (1 in 4). With the rest, I didn't tell anyone I was pregnant, and thought of it as my maybe-baby, and I didn't start to worry until the second trimester. When you get past 12 weeks, rent a doplar, so you can hear the baby's hb - I must've gained 10 extra pounds drinking oj day and night with my first, trying to get her to move!

I found that the pregnancy forums on the mothering.com boards are VERY good. They'll keep you sane with good advice. Not the "everything will kill you both but at the same time don't worry about what you did in the past" oddness of What to Expect, but real, down to earth, good advice.

But seriously, don't worry about the tuna, especially since it was canned. Or the advil (ibuprofen is only not "allowed" towards the END of the pregnancy). Don't know about the lamisil!

Aww, congrats!! Worry is a part of the game, and once your little one gets here, you'll have a whole new set of worries! I wish you many blessings on this journey!

You are going crazy and I would say you will be for the next 20 years or so, but I'm 40 and my mother assures me that is not the case! lol I still get up in the night and check on my six year old.

Welcome to Motherhood. :flower3:

Congratulations! Once you feel the baby move, you'll worry a little less. Until the baby is born...

Remember, though, it brings more blessings than it does worry or sorrow.

I'm 38 1/2 weeks pregnant and I still worry! Like other posters said it starts the day you find out your pregnant (and you question everything you ate, did, or thought in the day's leading up to it) and I don't think it ever stops! You look forward to hearing the heartbeat, and then the ultrasound, and then labor (as much as you can look forward to labor...) so that you can finally see for yourself that the baby is OK, and it does feel great and like such a relief when they put that healthy baby in your arms and all the worry and anxiety is finally over!...for like 2 minutes...and then you worry that the baby won't latch on...and does it look like the skin might be a bit yellow?...and will their nose always be so smooshed...and Oh! My! God! did someone just sneeze in this room? Does my baby have the swine flu now???? Who gave my baby the swine flu?!?!...and on and on forever and ever until the end of time.
But it's sooo worth it!
Congratulations!!!!

I have a 17 year old, and believe me the worrying never ends. Welcome to being a parent. There is nothing more rewarding in the entire world than a loving respectful child that you know you have had a hand in raising.

My darling daughter, Sarah, is the most amazing person I have ever encountered. I thank God each and every day for the beauty He has chosen to share with me.

:lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

You all are cracking me up!!!!

My mother is 68 years young, she still worries about her babies who are 34, 37, 39 and 43!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can clearly remember her mother (my grandma) at 97 telling my mom to put on a hat before going out to mow because the she'd get a suburn. :rotfl2: (Her baby was 60 then.)

It never ends. You'll get used to it, eventually....

In all seriousness, just RELAX (cause "stress is bad for the baby, you know" :lmao:). You are not crazy, one tylenol at XX days pregnant isn't the end of the world, and no pregnancy is the same (so when your friends/family start comparing notes, DO NOT PANIC!). It's going to be an amazing ride!

Stay off the internet symptoms sites! And the "What to expect when expecting" book scared the **** out of me. CONGRATULATIONS!

:goodvibesAwww thanks for all the support!

It's great especially since I am not telling my friends yet, there are lots of MC's in my family so I will wait until 12 weeks.

It's funny that I convince myself I am the only person who's EVER been this sick...except for the millions of women who have been through it since forever!

And yes, I now know to stop googling every symptom and issue, every one you can find something horrible.

Now I think I am getting a cold and am trying really hard not to google that potential impact :)

Congrats!

I tend to start begging the doctors/nurses to just cut me open and extract the baby at roughly 24 weeks. I'm pretty unbearable to be around after that time frame.

Some people love it - some people hate it - some people are indifferent!

Try and enjoy it... at least it's an excuse to eat crazy concoctions!

The only impact of the cold will be that even after your Dr tells you that you can take medication, that it won't hurt the baby, and you don't have to suffer like your back in medieval times...you won't trust him and his years and years of medical experience, so you'll resort to all sorts of weirdness like tablespoons of balsamic vinegar to stop a coughing fit, and pouring salt water through your sinus cavities with a Netti pot.
And then you'll google the possible impact of too much balsamic vinegar and over zealous netti potting on pregnancy.
Oh the joys of becoming a Mommy!!
At least you can eat a huge stack of pancakes with strawberries and giant clouds of whip cream, and not feel guilty. Baby has to eat after all!

Actually, a stuffy nose can be a symptom of pregnancy. Annoying as heck, I think I started getting stuffy a week after conception and stayed that way until DS was born!
