I'm pretty sure this is on topic. ;D
Clothes are different for some people. To most that buy designer clothes it's because they like the style, material, store. Not necessarily because "everyone shops there". Honestly...that annoys me; how people think that you could only possibly like that store because "everyone else goes there."
You can shop wherever you want and your preference can be designer or not. As long as you like the clothes and wear them. =)

Abercrombie and Hollister are actually owned by the same company.

Hollister is aimed more at middle schoolers and high schoolers.

Abercrombie is aimed at college+.

Ahhhhahhhahhh I remember when my "friends" said that to me. Really I wasnt poor it was just because I wanted to save money and get comfortable clothes that didnt itch. Gosh people these days, and ya know what? I actually LIKE walmart lots of the clothes that they have their are really cute.
Where people get the idea that its a poor people store because it saves money is outragious. I like to look nice, but not for a cost...does that even make sense? To my friends it wouldnt.


geez someday they are going to grow up and then they wont have their parents to support them to see what other kids are going through. This stuff annoys the heck outta me, they shouldnt say anything like that, because they dont know.

I always get told I live on the wrong side of town they say I live in "Chavs Ville". I also had a friend round and she told me my room was tiny?! I actually thought my room was quite big, and many of my friends have told me how lucky I was to even have my own room. Some people Ah.

It bugs me when girls at my school brag about how much clothes they have, how much money they get etc. I just feel happy by reminding myself they can live off their parents wealth now, but when they are older they will struggle. Harsh lesson but argh.

I am extremely thankful for what I have and I am happy with my life. And you can bash me all you want.

And I hope none of these posts were directed toward me (or anyone else on the DIS for that matter), because I feel like people have been personally attacking me on here because of what I wear. I wear what I do to express my personal style not just because it's "popular" and I hope you guys can understand that.

And I am sorry you guys feel that way about some people.

Peta is a bad bad bad organization, and I lose respect for anyone involved in it, BUT I believe that had something to dow ith the "I'd rather be naked than wear fur" thing they had going for awhile? Where they have hot girls get naked and protest fur? Thats the only connection I can make.

Sex does sell, and its pitiful, becuase americans are so prudish. Sex is a double edged sword in america. if you like it, you're a ho, if you don't, you're a prude. We're covering our eyes, but peaking through our fingers at all the sex in our daily lives. Its bombarded at us through television, magazines, news papers, billboards, etc. Even clothing companies are making money with ads that DON'T feature clothing! Sex is natural, but we're so...sheltered from it, that when we see it, it simoutaniously perks our ears and raises our hackles. We're sheltering ourselves from our own bodies, but we're also shoving it in our own faces.

I don't think PETA is a bad organization. I actually like PETA, being a vegetarian.

But anywho. People were talking about Abercrombie... I HATE ABERCROMBIE. Mostly because I don't fit into their clothes! I'm a size 11.

People look at me and say, "Hannah, you are NOT a size 11!" But I have a bit of a tummy, and a booty. Meaning I'm not a size 2. People who think they're better than everyone else because they can wear a -insert size here- irk me so much. I don't mind people with fast metabolisms - it's the people that think they're BETTER.

Finally, somebody who agrees with me! I hate PeTA with a burning eternal flame of passion. If you love animals, you should in no way be affilated with PeTA (I lowercase the 'e' for ethical because it's a lie).

They ARE all about making money. They are a group of crazy activists. I mean, they are actually AGAINST the no kill act in animal shelters! Because they say 'pets should be dead rather than live a month in a cage'. WTH?!? And in their so called 'animal shelter' in Virginia they lie to people and tell them they'll find good homes for their pets... when they actually euthanize perfectly adoptable animals whenever possible. I think it was less than 5% that were actually adopted. They want to undomesticate animals.

They also use fake lies to get young teens to fall for them, which is just sad. Here's a great photoshop I found of the 'Your mommy/daddy kills animals!' propoganda(for those who don't know, Ingrid Newkirk is PeTA's president. The quote is actually something she has really said.):

Okay, I don't like PETA, as an organization.

But I am thankful for PETA. If I had never gone to their website to read about animal cruelty, I might have never become a vegetarian. And becoming a vegetarian was one of the best moves I've made.

I'm disgusted with and thankful for PETA. I'm disgusted with the "PETA for Kids" website, though. They shouldn't be telling children how animals are killed.

imo, people just just want to say stuff like that so that they can put someone below them... the idea of being better than someone else makes them feel good, so they use whatever they can to do so... whether it be clothes, looks, etc etc... its definitely annoying, but its not going to change anytime soon.. best way to deal with it is to just walk away laughing...

but i like to use fire against fire... i just make fun of them back and it usually puts them on the spot more times than they tried to put me.. once someone said:

"yo, that shirts worn like crazy man... cant afford a new one?"

and i just replied with:

"nah man, this is just temporary.. i was running late this morning and it was the first thing your mom gave me"


and that was the last time he tried to burn me haha... but again.. best thing is to just walk away and be the better person.. i just enjoy stooping to their level lol
