Ok, I have a brother named Alan. He's 11 and he's in the 6th grade. His math teacher gives him a 100 as long as they fill in every answer on their homework. You could put
'poo' for every answer and she would go "Oh, splendid job!" Well, right now his math average is 102%, and my parents don't believe that his teacher lets them do that.

They think that it's possible for a student to score a perfect 100 on over 20 different assignments with at least 20 questions each. Guess they never took probablility. Anyway, just because I had a 98 average last year (my old teacher quit) they think I'm a complete idiot... I've tried so many times to explain how his teacher grades and they think I'm lying. Even Alan has tried to tell them that.

I'm just furious because my parents think I'm gonna be a loser and Alan'll be the next Bill Gates. Plus, my parents say they won't pay for my high school tuition but will pay for Alan's... So... I'm left with the task of earning a full ride through high school and most likely college and Alan get's a free ride through everything in life. Please tell me that isn't crazy...

You know what i can't believe I'm saying this but your parents are completely out of line! Is that really (in a nut-shell) what they said to you? Because you were two percent below absolute perfection?! Honestly i think you should have a little talk with your parents.

everyone in this situation needs to chill out. a 98 is an A. A stands for ABOVE AVERAGE. Its a 2 point difference. Calm down. He is YOUNGER than you. Therefore his classes are EASIER than yours.

You, your brother, and your parents are seriously waaaay too high strung if you all are getting upset over 2 points.

I have a friend who makes straight 100s in EVERYTHING. She got absolutly near tears when she got a 99 in an extreamly difficult history course.

People should seriously calm down before someones head explodes.

Over here, 98 is above average. A+

It actually is possible to get 100 on most math tests, I know someone who did that in sixth grade. It was like every single one she got perfect.

Anyways, my grades aren't up to par on what I had last year, but the work is harder. I'm maintaining a B - A+ average for every class.

They are mad over a 98!?!? How did they find out anyway. It would come out as an A anyway. (A+ doesn't exist in high school, at least here) In our math class, he grades different from any other teacher. It's not a curve, but a scale. He has a way of figuring out, for example two errors might be a 93.
