Thank You in advance for allowing me to Vent.. I'm at a loss and don't know what I can do other then Kidnapping..

I am sooooo mad and upset and there is nothing I can do about it.. I made a few phone calls and all they can do for me is take a report.. since I'm not related to him, I can't get details..

Something needs to be done about or Dyfus and Child Protection services  Who are they protecting?? Cause it isn't the Child in this case..

DS's friend, was abused Thursday night by his Step Father.. This is not the first or 10th time it has happened.. :guilty: But this is the 1st time Dyfus has been involved.. and I don't know why they bothered at all...

His friend's Granparents had him all weekend after Mom brought him to their house Thursday night.. He went to the hospital with multiple bruises and cuts down his back and arms and legs.. :sad1: "Dad" had him pinned to the floor and was sitting on him while hitting him, spitting on him, and screaming at him..

He was given a restraining order against his parents not to come within 100 or 200 feet of him...

Well Today he was forced to go back home :scared1: What ?? Are you Kidding me ??

The reason.. Dyfus said his Grandparents have no rights to him or to keep him!! Hellooooo... MoM brought him to them... They didn't come in and take him.. Mom brought him to their house...

What is wrong with our system ?? Who are they Really protecting??

Took me a minute to realize what you meant by Dyfus, but that is a terrible story.

Even if they didn't want the grandparents to have him, it doesn't sound like he should have gone back home.

Does he have a bio dad somewhere who would care for him?

No.. He passed away :guilty:

The system is failing this kid and so is his mother! What the hell is she still doing living with this man?

Good point! Parents have to be the first line of defense, then DYFS! Sounds like no one is protecting this kid. So sad.

This sounds like a very upsetting situation, but I admit...I'm a little confused.

agnes!

I used to work in the juvenile court system, and you would be deeply saddened to see just how many woman will "choose" an abusive partner over their own children. It's shameful.

:sad2: I know.. DH's Aunt works for County Court.. and she sees how many kids get put right back into the Home where they are being abused..

She normally breaks it up Before it gets this far.. so I've been told..

He was more upset that This time, she Helped !! She pushed him into the counter, he fell and that's how "dad" was able to get him on the ground..

This sounds like assault and battery to me. The police should be involved as well as Child Protective Services.

His mother is just as guilty of abuse as his step-father.

His parent's told child services that he is suicidal and does drugs.. neither which is true.. and they tested him when he was at the hospital and it was negative...

His parents are saying anything they can to make themselves look good and him look bad..

I am just soooooooooooo furious and uspet and I feel so helpless because there is nothing I can do..

:guilty:

This " Dyfus"...is it a person or a thing?

I am just crying for this poor child. :sad1: How old is he? Don't the medical authorities have to report the abuse when they treat?

I agree...

His Grandparents did call the cops but when Child Services get involved, the police drop it and just keep a report on file

ITA. This boy should not be in that home any longer.

He turned 17 about a month ago

Hospital.. No because dyfs brought him..

I'm confused too. I thought at first Dyfus was the name of (or the the op was using for) the boy. Then I thought Dyfus is the OP's son and he was there when it happened and this is why the OP is upset.
Now that I've read it a 4th time, I'm even more confused.

It's Division of Youth and Family Services

I *think* it's DYFS... Department of Youth and Family Services.
