we are at newport bay right now and just cannot believe the rudeness of some people! We are two women travelling with 4 kids all under 5 and there are grown men that would cut us off while walking thru the doors. People would shove each other at the character meeting points... and tonight right before the "fireworks" show (which was NOT wishes) this man got right infront of us blocking all of our views. We waited for an hour in that spot and this guy with no kids just decides that can stand there. So, I opened my big mouth and told him to move! He told me to shut up!!!! :furious: I just can't believe that grown people would behave this way. This rudeness has been happening since we arrived on Thurs. It makes me not want to come back.... the "magic" is definitely not here. :( We have two more days and I hope that everything gets better!

How awful! I hope things improve for you.

This is something that happens more often during high season! If the resort is stuffed people become more and more rude and selfish. Many people think: I'm here and I payed a lot of money and now I deserve the best sport for the parade/fireworks and I can everybody push aside because I deserve to be the first at Mickey/any attraction.

This is something that wont happen that much during low season!

Try to enjoy you holiday!

THE MAGIC IS THERE!!! :thumbsup2

Sorry that your stay has not been so good so far, I hope it improves for you. We were lucky that we did not experence anything like this however I was expecting it. It has been very busy at DLP recently.

How ridiculous! Its awful when people have no manners. I hope things get better and you will be able to have a better time. Next time shuv them out the way :rotfl2:

wow - never had that happen to me before... everyone is always so nice when im there. maybe its because of the summerseason or something that this happens to you. hope it gets better...

Oh that's terrible bartty, I hope things improve for you over the next couple of days. :grouphug:

There is just no excuse for rudeness or bad manners. :sad2:

That's not good :sad2:

Here's some :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: for the rest of your trip.

When we visited in March there was a certain sector of people staying in the Disneyland Hotel who were VERY rude. I will not say what 'sector' since that would be very un-PC! But they barged into lines, pushed their way into lifts (after we had been waiting before they arrived), shoved their children into characters faces who were visiting OUR table and so on..... :furious: It took some of the edge off our stay. I had always thought they were generally nice people but, at least the huge number staying at the DLH, gave their country a bad name in my eyes.

I really hope that things get better for you.

So don't forget to give us a trip report and pictures after your return! :cool1:

The DLH is beautifull, enjoy your stay there.

How AWFUL. Some people just have no manners whatsoever.

Still as others have said - don't let it spoil your trip and just tell your baffled children than some people aren't fortunate enough to have parents who teach them manners

I can totally understand how you feel as I saw exactly the same things in June. Pushing, using push chairs as battering rams and ignoring queues were common-place but the thing that I noticed most was the Character Photo points. It was akin to seeing a Rugby scrum with Parents pushing their way in regardless of those who were queuing in an orderly manner. I remember it being bad 13 years ago when I first visited, but it seems a lot worse now. It put me off even contemplating getting any Character pictures. Instead, I have lots of Character pictures taken in Florida 3 years ago where there was no trace of this problem.

I never even tried to get near the characters - it's a bit of a closed shop and if you don't have kids there's not a hope of getting close to them. I have a number of snaps of characters with other folk's children in there but none with yours truly.

I do hate it when folk use pushchairs as a weapon. I can imagine that it's difficult getting around with a pushchair but do people have to skin your ankles with the blessed things?

We also were in June in the resort and we haven’t seen no pushing or rude people. But we have seen this on other visits. I think I don’t let these people ruin my day! I am on holiday and I have enough time and if somebody wants to ignore queues I tell them politely that this was my place in the queue. And if the act crazy or don’t (want to) understand I just let them go and I think by myself “The mighty Mickey will punish you for this!” :furious:

At the Disneyland hotel there was Mickey and people were queueing to meet him. there was no official queue area so I was very surprised and people did try to push in to the front however a CM sent them right to the back of the line so they lost there original place in the queue.

In the park we did avoid the characters that did not have a official queue line as I don't want my dd getting pushed, she still got to meet lots of characters at the hotel and at cafe mickey where it was much more orderly.

Another thing when the characters leave do go back stage why do people follow them, thinking they will stop for a picture? I mean if they did they will never get back stage I wound probably pass out from heat exhaustion!
