OK, so I've decided what I want to do in my master bathroom. Currently, the walls aren't perfect, since I pulled off the wallpaper and left the imperfections. I decided that they were OK because I painted the entire wall a parchment color, and then I did a sandstone block affect after I taped our what would have been grout lines.
Then, last winter, my DH decided we needed a killer mirror. I had to stretch the remaining paint to fill in what was a white wall.
I've hated the result since, but didn't know what I wanted to do until I saw an episode of Decorating Cents on HGTV one day last week. They did a yellow-mustardy colored Venitian plaster affect with deep wine-colored draperies that were trimmed in gold.
I can't get the final look out of my head. I can picture my bathroom done in something similar.
So, I've got down the part, from the show, of how to apply the plaster... but, how do I obtain the varigations in color and do I have to apply a wax coat at the end?
Basically, how does one apply a Venetian plaster look?
