Review:
I was so excited to have found this website. I looked high and low for garters and just couldn't find one that I liked. I purchased the Cinderella's Coach garter. It arrived today and it is everything I wasn't expecting. I must have read that the printing on the ribbons was rainbow and forgotten about it. It looks so tacky... I thought it was silver lettering I was getting. It looks that way on the website. The charms on the garters are pea-sized... literally. The ink color here is in my court. I should have re-read the information.

We also ordered cocktail napkins. We chose the black napkins with silver lettering and the "Cinderella's slipper." At the point we ordered, the photos of what the slipper looked like was not posted. Size-wise, it is too small for the napkin and looks more like a high heel than Cinderella's slipper. The lettering on the napkins is so poor. It all runs together and has a bunch of extra ink. My full name looks like "Jijjian" instead of "Jillian."

At the point we ordered, the information on the front page in the yellow box wasn't available. No where did we find the words, "Non-refundable or no exchanges." The front page was mostly a welcome. We ended up ordering right when they were revamping the website (like the slipper being shown now, too). When I contacted her, I was offered a curt, "apology," that I wasn't satisfied. I even winder if the rainbow lettering on the ribbon was just recently changed... I *swear* it was silver. I was so particular about what I wanted.

The most important thing: This vendor could easily be bogus or someone is fishing when you're paying! There was a huge problem with my card going through (and not because there wasn't money in the account). When I contacted my bank, they said they shut her out of the account becuase she swiped the card 14 times! When I questioned her about it, she said she only ran it 5. Well... where were the other 9? The reason they may have kept trying (or she is a liar...), was because the address I gave and the address associated with the card didn't match- we hadn't updated it since moving. I am so thankful it wasn't right at this point; had it been right, someone could have made a real mess as all the money being paid for the wedding was sitting in that account.

I finally paid via PayPal to avoid the communication over email or on the phone in case someone was trying to use that information illegitimately.

I would seriously stay away from this vendor... between the questionable payment method available through the website and the poor quality of the products and no return or exchanges offered, it is not worth the time, energy, or effort.

:guilty:

Wow, Jill....I am so sorry to hear about your bad experience. I do hope that you are able to find a garter and reorder the napkins. I know how frustrated and upset you must be. Thanks for sharing your story...I am sure that the information will be very helpful for other brides/grooms.

I should have cancelled the order as soon as all the stuff started with the bank (shoulda/woulda/coulda). I just know that I've posted this site a few times... and want to retract it now!

If you are still looking for a vendor for napkins and ribbons we used www.jeanmessentials.com The quality of our items was amazing, my mom is going to use them again for my bridal shower and we plan to order for them for our at home reception. They don't have anything with a Disney theme, but still have a large variety.

Not sure if they are homemade... the garter sure as heck could be. The napkins just might be from a home press. I've had professional ones done form my Sweet Sixteen (en masse!). These look nowhere near the quality they were. We still have some of them floating around... might have to see if I can dig one up and compare. I'll bet you're right......

I am familiar with Jean M... might look into that now.

Thanks guys-
xoxo

That is so sucky! I hope this can be rectified? I know you mentioned non-refundable but did you try to complain anyway...never hurts! Anyway thanks for the heads up.

I did try... and I never used the words, "I want a refund or exchange." I just said that the box arrived and that I was relaly disappointed in the quality of the product I received. I thought if I came right out with it, I'd be even less likely to end up with one. I figure a good business person would try to correct the situation.

My first email to her:

Hi Denaire-

I wanted to let you know that our package arrived today.

I am a bit disappointed. The silver ink on a number of the black napkins has blurred. I understand it is probably just something that happens with black napkins, which are unforgiving. I had personalized napkins for my Sweet Sixteen, and was expecting the same quality and clarity.

Also, my garter is nothing like what I had expected. The photos posted on the website are very misleading. The rainbow ribbon is much to my dislike. I was expecting it to be the silver lettering as it appears on the website. Also, the charms are much, much smaller than I would have been led to believe from the photos on the website. I was so excited becuase I'd looked everywhere for a garter that I'd like.. now, I feel like I'm back at stage one.

It seems like nthing has gone right with this order

A second one sent within minutes of the first:

On closer look, our napkins look like

Jijjian instead of Jillian...

Is there anything we can do to correct the situation?

Her reply:

Jillian,
I am glad your order arrived. I am sorry you are not happy (No you're not). We actually have quite a few of the napkins still here, as we always print extras. A lot of times people request samples, therefore we over print over orders. The double l-s in Jillian are printed with l-s and not j-s. This is the way the l-s look in this series of fonts (The why don't you use a better font?!) . I appologize if you are not happy with the clarity, however this is standard on black napkins (That ladies and gents, is THE apology). Sometimes, lightly rubbing your fingers across, will remove extra loose foil. I am not sure if this will help. (No, it didn't. Why do you use such poor quality technolgy then?)
(Ok, we can put this in my court. I probably did read it and forgot about it... or in the revamping of the website it jus thappened to end up there so conveniently. I am still leaning that I forgot though)As far as the garter set...I am really confussed how there is any decption with this item. I just pulled up the item on our website, and the printing is in rainbow metallic. The description clearly states the printing color. I have cut and pasted the wording from our website:
There is a set of satin ribbons with rainbow metallic writing reading "Cinderella" on the left side and "Prince Charming" on the right side. (keepsake garter description)
This garter has satin, and a narrow band of lace, and satin ribbons with rainbow metallic writing reading "Cinderella" on the left side and "Prince Charming" on the right side, and the same antique pewter pumpkin coach.(tossing garter description)
As far as the charm size...they are just as shown in the picture. That is a picture of an actual garter set...we do not take pictures of different items other than what we ship to our customers. (Gee, it must have been a close up... as small as they are in the photo, they are that much smaller in person)
Kindest regards, (Yeah right!)
Denaire

My reply:

Denaire,

In all likelihood, I will not be using the garter. There's something just odd about rainbow ribbon on a wedding garter to me. From the quality on my computer screen, the writing looks silver. I am sure I read the rainbow print at some point or another. In the hustle and bustle, I must have overlooked it.

Please know that I do access wedding chat boards regularly and will be writing a vendor review. Between the quality of the napkins, the hassle Wells Fargo caused to pay, and my disappointment, it will not be glowing.

It'll be on the Knot and Wedding Channel in no time...
I could kick myself in the bum for not cancelling as soon as the bank crap started.
