Hi Everyone!
I finally got my contract from Misty. It states that for any package that is 6 hours or more we have to provide a vendor meal. I'm cool with that-would hate to see her pass out b/c her blood sugar is low or something...:faint:

BUT then the Bridezilla side of me comes out and says "Um...What the duck! When does she plan on eating that while photographing my wedding?!?!" :rotfl: I have to laugh at this b/c it is really just silly. Even when you work you get a break...

I'm having an Escape wedding. We will most likely be doing a meal or something after. I'm not certain how this whole timeline thing will work out. if we end up just using her for the actual Escape timeline...When is she going to eat without eating in front of my guests that will only be eating cake? :confused3

Also, my contract did not say anything about should the date change by Disney (say we wanted Monday and they are booked that day but have something on Tuesday) that she would change our booking with no penalty as long as it is a week day. I know I have to bring this up to her b/c I'm not signing a contract that doesn't have that in it...Especially this far out. Was this in everyone else's contract? Or did you just go on her word?? (Um...can't do that...too many what ifs...)

This might help you feel better - I think all photographers have their assistants photograph while they eat. Doesn't Misty's husband Nelio (sp?) work with her? We're not using Misty, but that's been my experience with weddings I've been to! :goodvibes

We booked the Roots over a year out - I knew I wanted them to photograph more than I was attached to our location. So it wasn't a problem for us. But when I talked to them, they gave us the verbal that they would change if needed. I know this has been the norm for other Roots, Misty and Randy brides and to my knowledge there has never been a problem. Someone want to back me up on that?

No problem - just hand my mind over as well if you should happen to come across it in your travels! :lmao:

I had the same verbal agreement with Randy - but I don't remember how he said it but from what I understand he had no problem switching dates as long as he was available the other date. He basically did that for us because our wedding was originally going to be Sept 1st but then we swtched it to August 31st.

I have Misty booked for my wedding. I asked her what would happen if our date was changed by Disney. As far as I remember, if its to another weekday, in general there is no issue, unless she's been booked for that day. She works with a lot of disney weddings and she understands how the system works. I think with weekends its more difficult as naturally more weddings are held at weekend but she would try to work with you either way. If it ends up though that you she can't work with you on your original date or on your back up dates then you will lose your deposit.

Hope this helps!

Since you're having an escape, is your "greater than six hours" broken up over time (i.e., wedding, cake reception and later DP)? If it is, I would talk to her about the fact that there really isn't an opportunity to provide a vendor meal.

With Wishes weddings, where the reception runs longer, this is not a big deal at all. There was plenty of time while we were eating that they could eat a meal. No one wants pictures of them and their guests stuffing their faces anyway. I still had plenty pictures of the food, details, etc. And vendor meals were $14.95 on my BEO!

Obviously, if you're not having a catered meal reception for an Escape...this is harder. I'd talk to Misty about it.

Hmmmm...I am already loosing my (enter what ever DPS is included in the package). It would suck to loose my deposit on top of that...

I'm still working on the details. I want a "reception" of some sort, but not sure how this will all work out. GARSH! $14.95 for a vendor meal? What do they get peanut butter and jelly???? I hope they at least get something good. :rotfl:

The vendor meal on my BEO is $22 per vendor - My wedding is in August 2009. However, I'm having my reception at the Living seas - it may be different in the ballrooms. I just wanted to let you know to budget accordingly!:thumbsup2

I also just booked Misty:banana: We are just booking her 4 hour package so I don't have any input about the food:confused3 However, the date issue was a little worrisome to me as well. I have an e-mail from Misty stating that we can switch to another date she's available so I'm going to save that in case it becomes an issue.

In the contract I also typed in a little clause under our date... something like this " Date: Monday 12/6/2010 *date subject to change at 8 months out based on ability to confirm date with Disney. If unable to confirm this date with Disney date may be switched to another Mon-Thurs date that the photographer has available without any penalties or additional fees" I also added something similar under the time section of the contract. She'll probably think I'm a nut but I just felt like it needed to be stated- especially since I'm so far out.

Thanks! Even at that price I would throw in a Mickey Bar for her (to eat after the wedding!)

I have a similar email from her as well. I sent an email to Nelio asking if there is something specific that needs to be done. I like your idea better. Will take care of that.

Got the contract back from Nelio with everything we want in it. (Day change) THEN DF asks if we have rights to the photos. Well, we have reproduction rights...Yes. No, he wants to know if we have the rights to change something to black and white or if we want to crop it if we can do that. I explained that this is THEIR artwork and that is probably a no go. Which I'm fine with, but asked if this was a deal breaker. He said no, it's just that he wants to know and would like those rights as well...another email went out to Nelio...These people are saints! :worship:

Do you know if other photographers allow this?
:wizard:
