I am just curious how many of you gals wore veils (or are going to) at your wedding. I know they are traditional, but I just do not think a veil is for me (or will look good on me). Anyway, just curious..... pixiedust:

I'm going to wear one, but its going to be very simple, no lace, halos, or any of that. I'm either going to secure it with a simple comb or a tiny little flat comb tiara. If you're not comfortable don't wear one. One of my closest friends didn't and it was like no one even noticed until I mentioned that she didn't have one on. I think she looked great without it

I didn't wear one...

For some reason, I always wanted a wreath of flowers for my hair. So I made one.

Do what YOU want...if you don't think your the veil type, then find whatever makes you comfortable, even if that means no headpiece at all! :)

I reallllllly tried to talk myself into a veil. But everyone I tried on looked stupid on me. So I just did a tiara with an updo. I'm soooo glad I did, since the wedding was verrrry windy.

I'm wearing one, I didn't think I would want one until I tried one on, and I HAD to have it. :rotfl:

Im wearing one too! Mine is very simple, it just has a satin trim! I will not be getting a tiara though, they just don't look right on me! :)

I wore it for the ceremony only. I didn't do the blusher-even though I had always wanted one! It just didn't work with the dress and everything. I only did one that came down just below waist level (sure that length has a name, but I don't know it). I wore it with a tiara and left the tiara on. The main thing is to wait until you try on dresses, then try them on too. If they work on you and the dress, great. If not, that's great too. It'll be easier to know for sure when you choose a dress though.

I am not wearing one. I thought I would HAVE to have one until I started trying them on. The hairstyle I want will look so much better without it, and I just look silly in them. I am so short that it really overpowers me. I will be wearing a simple tiara.

I wore a simple one layer veil. It went to the middle of my back and was secured under my updo with a comb. I didn't have a blusher as I don't care for them. It was nice but I probably wouldn't have noticed if I didn't wear one.

I did not wear a veil. For one thing I thought it would make it more "formal" than I wanted, of course the dress I fell in love with had a train and I didn't plan on that either! The other thing is, I have a small head ;) Every time I tried on a veil I just looked ridiculous! It was SO not me! I went with a Swarovski crystal headband/tiara and it was simply gorgeous :goodvibes

Try on veils and see if you like them, you may fall in love with one once you try it on with your dress and all!

I'll be wearing a veil, but it will be simple and attached in the back with a comb. Nothing too fancy for me!

I wore a veil. I wasn't going to, but in the end, I felt the veil completed the bridal ensemble, and I had a blast wearing it. I didn't wear a blusher. My mom wanted me to, but having something in front of my face would have driven me crazy and I would have been swatting at it the whole way down the aisle.

i am wearing a veil at my disney wedding this march 21st! try a veil & see what you think texascourt. the veil really makes me feel like a bride & it looks so nice. i also love those pictures with veils too. its simple to my elbows with a comb. i also have a tiara for the reception.

28 days to go! :bride:

I am still undecided on a veil. I haven't quite choosen a dress but am leaning heavily toward one.....
I know that I don't want a blusher, like hmgolden said I'd just be swatting at it down the isle. I can't stand things on my face!

It all depends on how you picture your wedding. If you don't want a veil than ya don't need one!

I figure that I don't have to follow "traditions" since I am already breaking the big one and not getting married in Catholic Church (big thing for my family). They really don't know what to expcet with a Disney wedding so I can make it up as I go!!! I find that factor extreamly nice and stress free!

Good luck with all of your plans!

I didn't think a veil was for me either, but the saleslady talked my mom into buying one for me (probably my biggest hold up on it was the price!! it cost half as much as my gown!) I wore it under my updo and down my back for Disney and didn't wear it at all for my at home reception. I loved the back of my dress and didn't want it hidden!!

I am so glad I finally decided to wear a veil.

At first, I really wanted NO veil, especially not a blusher. Truth be told, I looked a lot prettier once I got my veil, which was hand made by a fellow disney bride! It was a single layer of wide tulle, NO poof at all! I loved my veil so much. Cathedral length, but one piece, including the blusher. I wore it for the ceremony only.

They also make for some great photos:

I am a bit heavier on the top end so I also felt a LOT thinner with the veil on and you can tell I felt prettier by the smile on my face- maybe that was the whole "getting married" thing... who knows?

Hi TexasCourt,

I am so happy that you decided on the intimate wedding...Congrats!!! I remember when you posted a few months ago about it. Anyways, I am not going to wear a veil. My dress is lace and strapless, but I am going for a more casual feel. I will put a white orchid in my hair instead. It is all a matter of personal taste and how you envision your wedding attire. Good luck!

I Agree try some on, you may decide that you love one. Whatever you decide on will be fine, just do what makes you happy!
