So, I found the veil....I'll post pictures in my PJ as soon as I get them...The cool part is is that it is my mom's veil! Here is where I need the help...some of it is yellowed and we are planning on cutting it down...IT"S HUGE! and there is still a lot of it that is good. The trim is amazing..and definately not something you would find now a days. It has a terrible headband thing...We are going to take the doily looking thing out of it and see if it can be incorporated to the wrap on my flowers (will Rosie do that?)
Here's my question...How do I cut it down and then sew the trim back onto the tulle? If we have to replace the new tulle that is fine...but do you hand sew the tulle to the trim? Will it stay? Also, I'm planning on wearing my hair up...how or what do I use to attach the train to my head/hair? :confused3 Are their people out there that do this sort of thing? Help! I really want to use it...I just have to figure out how....

How is the trim attached currently? Depending on the trim itself, hand or machine sewing would be the best. It's possible to use certain types of glue, but those will cause damage to the material after time (more yellowing). Attaching a hair comb would be the easiest way to keep it on your head. You can get those at any hair supply type store or sometimes even drug stores. Usually you just have to hand sew those on along the top bar. If you want to find someone to do it, either go to a local tailor/dry cleaning or contact a theatrical costume shop (most will get you in touch with a seamstress looking for outside work).

It looks like the trim is hand sewn...The piece that is on the headband is "tacked" on. Even though the comb will be going underneath my "cinderella curls" I should still use a comb? I think I'm gonna have to see it to understand it...:rotfl:
Thanks for the help.
I'll post pics in my pj when I get them!

I know Sally Beauty Supply (a store that's just about everywhere) sells the combs which snap similar to a barrette. I use them to attach queues to my hair for 18th century re-enactment (think low ponytail).
