I went on Alamo's website and they only show vehicles for 7. We will have 5 adults and 3 kids, 2 in carseats. Any one know how I go about finding a vehicle that will hold 8. TIA

A Chevrolet Suburban will hold 8 passengers if the console is not included in the front seat and your have a three seat configuration in the rear seats. I am not sure if the rentals are that way, but Chevrolet does produce one built that way. Don't know how popular it is.

Even if you could find a car that holds 8 you would have no room for luggage. You may find a 20 passenger van, but I don't know who would have them.

Your luggage is definitely going to be a problem even if you do "fit" in an 8 passenger van. We had two small suitcases, 3 duffel bags and a stroller and we were packed in a 7 passenger van. I would definitely get two vehicles.

Dougsmom,

A Chevy Suburban would have swallowed the little bit of luggage you carried.

My friend went to disney with seven people and sometimes needed to carry two additional so he rented from Carl's van rentals. He got an eleven passenger van and it worked out very well. The company left the van in a specific parking space at the airport. They called my friend's cell phone with a code to the lock and the space number shortly before he arrived.

The van was clean, ran great, and fit all of the people and the luggage great. The web addy is:

Note that it's almost always going to be cheaper to rent two smaller vehicles than something that will carry 8 + luggage. Is that on option?

This is a nice thing anyway, if you think your group would ever split up. You do have to pay for 2 cars to park if you're not staying onsite, but it can be worth it if you think you won't all be attached at the hip. Even for onsite, it's nice if you want to go different places in the evening.

thanks for the link to Carls. We will have 7 this summer, and we may go for that 8 passenger van. Once before we did the 2 off EA and National, that worked well too.
