Veggies

I was looking into getting one of those from costco but was not sure. Its so expensive!

I did buy mine from Costco. It is the Jack Lalane Power Juicer. It was $10 less at Costco than it was at the gourmet store at the mall.... plus Costco has a good return policy.

I don't just juice veggies. Straight veggie juice isn't particularly palatable, so I always add just a bit of fruit (usually apple). Carrots are also delicious as juice.... in fact, I will make just straight carrot juice sometime.

Not sure if you are looking for suggestions or recipes or what. I usually juice a variety of veggies including carrots, cukes, celery, red bell pepper, and beet. For fruit I have used kiwi, apple, pear, mango, pineapple, orange, lemon, grapefruit.

That particular juicer isn't powerful enough to effectively juice greens (wheat grass, barley grass, spinach, parsley, etc). If I am feeling the need for that, I buy it already juiced and just add it.

If you want any more information, just let me know. And there was a thread about juicing here just a few weeks ago. You might want to take a quick search for it...........................P

i started the thred on juicing, i don't think it got any responses :teeth:

pjlla -- that's the juicer i was going to buy, i'm disappointed to read you can't juice spinach in it! where do you buy that already juiced?

I haven't found straight spinach juice, but there are a few companies that make juices that contain spinach, wheat grass, barley grass, sprouts, spirulina, etc.... usually along with fruits. Don't have any empty bottles on hand right now, so I can't give any names. But I'll check next time I'm out and try to remember to let you know.

If you want to juice things like that, you will definitely need a higher end juicer.... like the one from that guy's documentary "Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead". I think that juicer would do what you want.... but keep it mind it is about $300. HTH.......................P
