Any vegetarians out there have a favorite place to grab lunch in the Magic Kingdom? Is counter service even an option or should I only try table service?

Suggestions for Epcot, MGM, and Animal Kingdom welcome as well!

Thanks so much...

Cosmic Rays in Tommorrow Land has veggie burgers and carrot sticks.

Pecos Bill has (Chicken) Wraps and carrot sticks.

MGM counter near RRC and TOT has a great fruit stand with fresh strawberries and cut fruit and light salads - very tasty.

EPCOT - Pizza in the Electric Umbrella along with pasta. Morracco may have veggie options. The Land used to have a veggie lasanga and big baked potatoes. Also try "The Living Seas Pavilion" for seafood options.

AK - Noodle House in Asia.

Does that help?

Hi...fellow veggie here.

On our trip last fall, we went to Columbia Harbor House for the first time and it had a great menu for veggies. I had a really good hummus and broccoli slaw sandwich. They also had a veggie chili on the menu. I'm also a fan of Cosmic Ray's. They have a veggie burger and the toppings bar is great.

I forgot to add my opinions about the other parks...

Epcot...my favorite is Tangerine Cafe in Morroco. They have a vegetarian platter that has hummus, tabouli, cous cous, and a lentil salad. The Cantina in Mexico is accomodating. Their beans do not contain lard. Rose and Crown has a few options.

MGM...we've eaten at the ABC Commissary a couple of times. I think that they have a tabouli wrap and a vegetarian noodle dish. The Brown Derby has a tofu noodle dish that was okay, but I didn't think that it was great.

Animal Kingdom...for some reason, we've always just hit Pizzafari, but I hear that the veggie sandwich at Tusker House is good.

A couple of other places I like...California Grill and Wolfgang Puck at DTD.

This fall (with the free dining plan) we're planning to try Boma at Animal Kingdom Lodge. Jiko (also at AKL) is suppose to be great for vegetarians.

As for the counter vs. table service issue, we're more grab and go people and I've had a fair amount of luck with CS. (Although, I pretty sick of hummus and veggie burgers by the end of the trip).

Good luck my fellow vegetarian!

Rainforest Cafe(s) have a really good 'nature burger' made with brown rice -- it's yummy! :)

Also Peco Bills has a great salad.

We love, love, love Columbia Harbor House's veggie options!! I remember we also had a decent meal at Pecos Bill's one night.

Animal Kingdom--definately head over to Tusker House!

And we just can't get enough of Tangerine Cafe in Epcot....YUM!

We found everyone to be very accomodating at table service places too. We knew most places had veg. options, but were wondering how we would fare at some of the buffets. (but who wants to skip the fun of the character meals? :rotfl: )
For our CRT breakfast, they brought out a special concoction that was ever so tasty in addition to the regualar plate without meat options (which is all we had asked for) All we did was let them know when we checked in.

Also had a great experience at Chef Mickey's dinner buffet. We asked if we could find out which items were vegetarian...a chef came out to personally escort us around the buffet pointing out which items had hidden chicken broth, etc. Then, he appeared later, totally unexpected, and presented us with an AWESOME stir fry type entree--delicious! Just when we were discussing how awesome they had treated us, he came back out to make sure we had enjoyed everything! :)

I am not a vegetarian but I've tried Veggie samich at Tusker house which was pretty darn tasty and huge.
Also my friend said that the loved the veggie options at Sunshine Foor Fair in EPCOT.

Some counter service places with vegie options. I've eaten some but just saw others on the menu. If you have any questions just ask.

MK
Columbia Harbor House - The Lighthouse Sandwich (hummus, brocoli slaw, tomatoes on olive bread) OR vegetarian chili.

Pecos Bills - Kit Carson Salsd (without the chicken) - has jicama, cheese, tomatoes, red peppers, lettuce, etc, and a vinagarette dressing.

El Pirata y el Perico- you can order a taco salad with black beans instead of the meat

Pinocchios - they have a salad you order without chicken, but I've never ordered it, I know it has peaches in it.

Cosmic Rays - vegetarian wrap with a side of pasta salad - lots of things in it, huge, really good

EP
Electric Umbrella - vegetarian chili with breadstick , they also have sides of pineapple coleslaw

The Land - tofu noodle bowl (not that great and really small protion), I think they also have a vegie cuban sandwich and a vegie salad with beats and goat cheese (no more vegie lasagna or potatoes)

China - a peanut salad with peanut dressing (pretty good)

Mexico - nachos without meat

MGM
ABC Commissary - a vegie noodle dish
Toy Story Pizza Planet - cheese or vegie pizza
Rosie's - vegie burgers
Backlot Express - a grilled vegie sandwich

AK
Tusker House - vegetable sandwich with grapes
Pizzafari - cheese pizza
Flame Tree BBQ - the salad without chicken
Restaurantosaurus - used to have a vegie salad, but I didn't see it on the menu and only saw vegie burger

For Table Service Buffets we have done Bomas (has lots of vegie items but we didn't like it cause of the spice. Crystal Palace has lots of choices as well as Chef Mickey's, and Hollywood & Vine. Rainforest Cafe has a nautral vegie burger, but I got a pasta dish without the meat that was very good and a huge portion

Thanks - you guys are the greatest!

I'll be sure to post any new veggie favorities that I find while down there -

Keep up the Dis-Love!!
