vegetarian options at Animal Kingdom

I have a great idea and don't know who to write to about it!

As a vegetarian, I'm pretty amazed by the lack of good veggie options at Animal Kingdom. The rest of the parks seem to do a much better job, and it seems like a park about animal conservation woudn't be so lacking. It would be great if they could incoroprate the idea of conservation into the menus, or even consider making the next restaurant mostly vegetarian.

Is there someone in charge of restaurant/menu selections for each of the park? Any ideas how I can find out?

That aside, do you know of any good veggie options at Animal Kingdom (other than the fruit plate at Flame Tree, which is delicious but.... a fruit plate)?

Um. Onion Rings? Thinking. Thinking. Oh, the mango pie at Y&Y CS is really yummy.

I 100% agree that AK needs better veggie options.

We eat a big breakfast, have ice cream for lunch, and finish the day at Boma.

The Tusker House menu sounds incredible to me, personally.

Tusker House does sound really good and appears to have a lot of vegetarian options, but CS choices are very lacking. It's basically the fruit plate at Flame tree, pizza at pizzafari or veggie burger at restaurantsaurus. My veggie DH would reccommend the pizza out of those 3 (there's no way he'd consider a fruit plate lunch).

Before Tusker House switched to a buffet, it had a killer veggie sandwich that I LOVED. I was very sad to hear about the change over mostly because this was the most veggie friendly place in the entire park.

I agree 100% though, AK is seriously lacking on vegetarian/vegan meals. A fruit plate is not a meal, no matter how many times my meat eating boyfriend tries to tell me it should do

I haven't been to Yak and Yeti yet, maybe they have something?

There's a fruit plate at Flame Tree BBQ and a veggieburger in Dino Land...My husband is a vegetarian and I made up this list to take with us for our trip (we leave today). We have DDP and I didn't want to feed the kids a 3rd dessert for snack so this has "healthier/refreshing" snacks. I've put a note next to the CS places about what veg option is available....Of course there are meat things noted too (for kids & me)

I just checked out the Tusker House menu and it looks really good! I'll have to try that next time.

Yak and Yetti seems to be all pork all the time, but maybe once they've been open for a while the menu will be a bit better.

It never occured to me to try the veggie burger at Restaurantosaurus - I had a "real" burger there a few years ago, and it was the single nastiest thing I've ever tried to eat. It may actually be the reason I became a vegetarian in the first place. Even if the veggie burger is decent, I wouldn't subject the rest of my party to that foulness.

Fruit plate plus onion rings is always good, but not something I want to have for lunch more than one day (and we typically go to AK at least twice on each trip).
