Vegetarian, not vegan food options

We are headed on a trip and we will have a vegetarian with us. He is not vegan, so will eat dairy products and real eggs.

Is this a common thing that they work with easily?

Say at Ohana breakfast, if he says he is vegetarian, not vegan and will eat eggs and milk, will they bring him regular eggs, and regular waffles but the non meat sausages, for example? It would be such a waste if they bring out special scrambled "eggs" that nobody particularly wants!

I know there are other examples of foods that are plant-based variations of the ordinary kind on the menu. Can he get a mix and match dish for a milk/egg eating vegetarian easily? Or should he plan to either eat more vegan while we are there?

Basically, how complicated is it going to be to, or is it easier to just go with the vegan dishes?

Yes, very common. Not difficult at all.

Just mention that dairy and eggs are okay upon ordering. He'll get his own 'Ohana skillet with plant-based sausages, unlimited refills. The meat eaters get shared skillets.

I'm gluten and dairy intolerant and get delicious breakfasts at 'Ohana. They're very good at adapting to individual dietary needs.

We had a vegetarian in our party recently and it was super easy to work with. I will say it was a mix on the vegan eggs vs regular eggs with our breakfasts got Vegan eggs at Tusker house but didn't at others. Our vegetarian didn't mind vegan eggs or eating the eggs from the meat skillet but had they had an issue I just would have asked for more regular eggs if that is what they wanted. In some other places, they asked what they would prefer from the vegan/vegetarian options. They are always super willing to accommodate. I also found there were often options in addition to what was listed on the menu which was nice.

I would plan to eat more vegan. I am a vegetarian who eats similarly to what you’ve mentioned. When at Disney, I’ve found it’s easier to order the ‘plant based’ meals rather than try to do protein swaps/removals from menu offerings or dig into ingredients to see if it uses something (like chicken stock) that I won’t eat. The plant based choice will always meet - and probably exceed - my dietary preference. I frequently will have servers tell me that since there is no meat in the dish, it’s vegetarian. They mean well, but don’t understand that stocks and broth are also ‘meat’ in my mind. I totally get it why it wouldn’t make sense, but traditional French Onion soup and risotto are not going to work for me, even thought they don’t have chunks of meat. Sorry for the ramble!

At Garden Grill, they have always brought me my own breakfast skillet with the normal eggs and waffles just with Morningstar sausage. I would assume Ohana would also be similar.
