My dd and gs are both vegans...need info on dining alternatives other than mac n cheese and grilled veggie plates. Do any restuarants in parks or resorts do interesting vegetarian meals?

I've seen a yummy-looking hummus and shredded carrot sandwich reviewed on here before - unfortunately, I can't remember where it's from! I think Earl of Sandwich at DTD, maybe?

Also, I think the noodle place at MK has a vegan noodles and veggies dish.

I think the hummus sandwich is from Columbia Harbor House. :) I keep wanting to try it!

A lot of places will adjust the meal for vegan, just ask. A lot of chefs are very accomadating.

I believe on allears there is a whole section for vegans? :) Check over there..hope you enjoy your trip!

Check on the Dining Review board at the top of this board. There are many dining reports where one or more guest were vegan or vegetarian.

WDW is temendously accomodating, both at CS and TS locations. In many cases you will have more than one option.:)

I just had a dinner the other week at Olivia's, which by the way is a wonderful hidden gem for all meals!!!, I'm not a vegan, but I do try to cut down on meat and I had an delicious dish, Penne Pasta, with sun dried tomatoes and spinach leaves dressed with a warmed olive oil dressing. It had parmesan cheese on the top, but I'm sure that could just be omitted.

For any meat eaters in the family, the prime rib is one of the best you'll find. We've had this often too. Like I said, it's a wonderful hidden gem with great service, warm atmosphere and delicious food. You can get there easily by boat or bus from Downtown Disney.

Good to know! I'm a vegetarian, but very VERY picky lol. I hate vegetables. In reality I would be a carbavore

All the resturants have a veg dish. Some of them look great by the way! Pumpkin Risotto at Coral Reef has my attention!

Check out the lunch menu for Crystal Palace and do the same for Grand Floridian Cafe.

Chili at Columbia Harbor House is vegetarian

Boma would be a great dinner choice

Buffets in general offered us a good variety

Veggie burgers are pretty readily available

If they're vegans, they wouldn't eat mac and cheese in a restaurant, would they? :confused3 Any chance they're just vegetarians?

I'm not a vegetarian, but often enjoy meatless meals. I love the hummus sandwich at Columbia Harbor House, but I'm not sure it's vegan. Our favorite meal on our last trip was the Tusker House lunch buffet. I ate a serving of chicken curry, but I mostly enjoyed the vegetable cous cous, samosas and many wonderful and exotic salads -- it would a really good place for a vegetarian. My DH has a fabulous grilled cheese with basil and tomato at Earl of Sandwich, but that obviously isn't vegan.

At Jiko in AKL, they have a delicious vegeterian dish. "Grains, peas and vegetables." My husband gets it every time we go there.
As a previous poster said, all TS restaurants have a vegeterian entree and they will try to accomadate any special needs. Just mention your dietary needs when you make your ADRs and then again when you check in at the restaurant. I have some food allergies and I have not been disappointed at any Disney restaurant.

I don't think TS restaurants should be too much of a problem--just note on your ADR that you will have vegan diners and ask for the chef when you get there. I'm a vegetarian and the chef came out at Flying Fish because there was no vegetarian entree on the menu--he made me a yummy tasting plate.

I think any TS restaurant will be able to accommodate you, but choices that tend to have a lot of vegetarian options (hence they might have things that are or can easily be converted to be vegan) are Boma, California Grill, possibly Spoodles depending upon the menu at the particular time.

The bigger challenge will likely be CS meals. I know I have trouble at Animal Kingdom--the only veggie options in the park at CS locations are cheese pizza, a veggie burger from McDonalds, and a plain sounding salad. I would try looking at the menus here http://allearsnet.com/menu/menus.htm and trying to determine what CS places have something vegan so that you know ahead of time what your CS options are.

I eat a little fish occasionally, but other then that avoid meat, as do my daughters. While we were there in February we enjoyed:

Pasta dish at Cinderella's Royal Castle - very yummy! They can just omit the Parm. cheese.
Hummus sandwich at Colombia Harbor House, SO GOOD! I was actually surprised at how good it was, and it's quite large.
Sunshine Seasons at Future World in Epcot (Land Pavilion) has some great choices. They had veggie sushi, salads etc.
Liberty Inn in "America" in World Showcase has a veggie burger, it was a little dry, but once I added pickles and ketchup it was quite good.
Other places we ate:
Pizzafari, pretty good pizza, but not sure if you can get it without the cheese, but Restaurantasaurus has a veggie burger.
Hollywood & Vine had a great buffet with lots of choices, I can't specifically think of anything vegan though. I had scrambled eggs, croissant, fruit salad (that is!) and a egg & cheese frittata thing that was tasty.

Next time I'm going to try:
Noodle Terrace in Tomorrowland, they have a tofu noodle bowl that sounds awesome!
Samosas at the cart in Adventureland
Tusker House in AK, sounds like they might have some good veggie choices
Crystal Palace, another buffet that sounds like it has some good choices
