Just checked out some menus on Daves tribute site.
I am curious as to what the selections of vegetarian entrees of the day and captains sugar-free dessert might be.....not that I will stick to all the healthy stuff
BUT, lets say I do want to be good, would I be rewarded with tasty food? :p

I had 2 of the sugar-free desserts, the chocolate cheesecake and chocolate cake on 2 different nights. They were VERY good. I would recommend them, even if it is sugar-free. And I'm a 10 year old kid.

Didn't have any vegetarian dishes, so I can't comment.

My DH recommends the sugar free chocolate mousse as well as apple pie. The offered the chocolate mousse a couple of nights. I tried it and it didn't taste sugar free in the least!

I am a vegetarian and have had some fabulous vegetarian entrees onboard.

On the menus, you will see a section containing vegetarian selections. Beware though, that vegetarian doesn't always mean low fat/low cholesterol. Some veggie dishes contain cheese and/or milk or egg products which are a far cry from low fat/low cholesterol.

As far as low fat desserts, there always seemed to be at least one low fat dessert such as fresh fruit and sorbet.

The staff is very good and catering to your dietary needs, though. So make sure you let them know what you're looking for.

You may want to check out Barb and Tony's website for sample menus -- www.castawayclub.com.

Good luck!

Also remember that sugar free doesn't mean no carbs - and those are what turn into sugars in the body (and fat on the hips!). If you've ever read those nutrition labels you'll notice that many "sugar free" items actually have more carbs than the real stuff.

If I'm going to eat it I'm getting the full deal - unless the sugar free is something that looks too yummy to pass up!

I highly recommend the vegetable curries (our favorite was cauliflower/potato a.k.a. "aloo gobi" .) We loved the curries so much that our server brought us some even when they were not on the menu! There are many Indian chefs on board.

I didn't notice any aftertaste with the chocolate mousse, it was delicious!
