Anyone have any?
Me and my bf will be visiting the world in 2007 and we want to try some sit-down dinners, most likely we'll be on the DP as we love our food
I've heard good things about CP, Boma, CG and Jiko so they're definitely on the list (may have to be one or the other of the last 2 though as they're 2 credits)
I heard that you can mention any dietary requirements when making an ADR and they'll accomodate you but i'm sure some restaurants are better at this than others ;) I'd really like to do CRT or Akershus, anyone know how accomodating they are? Bf isn't a picky eater but he does dislike being 'fobbed off' with pasta and tomato sauce or something similarly boring/not filling just for being vegetarian. TIA!

My DD and I are veggies. I find the selection of veggie dishes at WDW to be pretty decent. There is at least one veggie entree at every TS restaurant. The chefs will also work with you if you don't like what is being offered.

In addition to the restaurants you listed, I had a pretty good meal at Spoodles. Akerhaus had a veggie entree when we ate there in January, but it was probably my worst meal of my trip. They also have a cold buffet with a few things I could eat. Check out the menus at allearsnet.com. Most of the menus include descriptions.

As far as CS restaurants, my favorites are Columbia Harbour House in MK (hummus sandwich) and Tangerine Cafe at Epcot.

There are a fair amount of veggies on the boards, so you'll probably get a decent amount of replies to your inquiry.

I too am a vegan! I called each restaurant prior to leaving, as per a Disney representative, spoke with the Chef at each restaurant + they made me something incredible and special at each place. My DH is not a veggie at all, and I go to the restaurants he wants and they always are accomodating. Good luck! You'll enjoy it!

before ordering, ask the waiter if the chef has a vegetarian/vegan specialty. Chances are very good you'll get a surprise or two!

When we were there last Nov., LeCellier had a wonderful vegetarian dish that I ordered for lunch one day. It was really good and I'm hoping they still have it when we're down there this fall so I can order it again. Here's the description of it that I wrote in a dining review:

Wednesday 11-16
We had an ADR for 5:30 dinner at Le Cellier prior to the 9PM La Nouba show. We decided to see if we could get in for lunch instead and had no problem being seated right away. This is one of our favorites and it did not disappoint. Dh ordered the Steakburger and I had the Vegetarian Sampler. We choose not to order the cheese soup this trip, and now I wish we had! The Steakburger was good as always - served on a thick English muffin which makes eating it with a knife and fork almost essential. Dh got the potato salad instead of fries and it was very tasty (I tried some!) - slightly firm red potatoes with diced onion, celery and green pepper in a light mayo dressing. The vegetarian sampler was very different and good and a lot of food. It was served on a large platter that had Udon noodles piled high with a wonderful spicy vinaigrette. Served with it were mushroom potstickers and a very tasty spring roll. Several dipping sauces also came with it and each were very interesting. One was a type of plum sauce and one was a mustard based. All very good and would order it again.

My favorite is the coconut-crusted tofu at the Brown Derby. My son loves the vegetable curry at Rose and Crown. They are both great. We all the Columbia Harbor House for CS.

I'm a vegetarian and noted it on ALL my reservations. The food at The Garden Grill and BOMA is excellent for vegetarians! I got my own meal at The Garden Grill! :)

Now see, I read the menu for GG and didn't think much of it from a vegetarian stand point. I think it was mushroom ravioli (mushrooms and olives are about the only things I won't eat) Can I ask what your meal was?? :)

Hi
I'm veg too, but I didn't make a note of it on my ADR's. I always just asked for the veg menu or what they could do or just leave the meat out when I got there. Should I call back to make a note of it on my ADR's? Does that work out better when I get there? Thanks!!

Jiko at AKL has some really great vegetarian appetizers! I ordered two appetizers and made that my meal! Yum! It was an assortment of African cheeses...sooooooo tasty! And two African style tamales! I can't wait to go back and order them again!

I'm vegetarian (not vegan). I like the macaroni and cheese at Chefs de France and the veggie burger (homemade) at Rainforest Cafe. The veggie platter at the restaurant in Mexico is pretty good as is the veggie curry at the Rose and Crown. I wasn't crazy about the vegetarian sampler at Le Cellier (although I was grateful they had it!) and DH was not impressed with the steak.

The fish & chips kioskin the UK is one of the few places you can find french fries that aren't fried in the same oil as chicken nuggets etc.! They fry the "chips" separately from the fish.

I thought the cheddar cheese soup was at Le Cellier was off limits for vegetarians. For some reason, I remember seeing a post a few weeks ago saying there was bacon in it...I could be wrong though.

I had the mushroom ravioli and loved it! It was really good! But, also I ate the salad, bread, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, vegetables, and desserts that came with the regular meal! It's a ton of food and all you can eat, so I had no problem at all! Even if I didn't eat the ravioli, I would have been very pleased and satisfied. :thumbsup2

It was very easy and worked great for me! The Chef actually always came out to our table before our meal. He would ask, who the vegetarian was and then spoke with me about what they could make for my vegetarian diet. It was great to meet the Chef and for each of them to take the time to serve me better. They're great and will do whatever you'd like! :thumbsup2

This is exactly what we do when we go with our daughter who is vegetarian. We asked the servers to ask the chef to meet with us when we sat down and in every case they came up with a great meal for her. :thumbsup2 She particularly enjoys Boma and other buffets as she can choose lots of items. The fixed menu such as OHana were not her favourites. We also liked Park Fare.

There's apparently bacon and chicken stock in it, according to the recipe given out by the restaurant. Most soups are off-limits to vegetarians because of meat stocks/broths. However, soups with tomato broth (like minestrone) are an exception.
