My daughter does not eat meat. She hates the texture of any meat. I am reviewing the restaurants that we are going to online and some of the menus do not have a dish that does not have meat on it. Restaurants all have a dish that doesn't have meat in it right? And if not, can we request something with no meat.
DD did not like the tofu at Sci Fi last time and that was the only item on the menu with no meat. Do you think they could just make a sandwich from the menu (like the cheesburger or something) and put the lettuce, tomato, mayo, and cheese on a bun for her without the meat?
We really struggle with this when we go. I need to make sure that I notate it on the reservations so maybe the server can suggest something for us.
Does anyone else have these problems?

At all the Table Service they should be able to make a vegetarian meal for her even if there isn't one on the menu. At Sci-Fi in November there wasn't a tofu dish anymore, they had a vegie burger. I'm sure you could order a cheese sandwich of some sort though. I didn't have any problems in November on the deluxe plan and we ate at a lot of table service places. Even the counter service most have a vegie option, not all but most.

I am a vegetarian because of the texture of meat but I also really dislike the taste of tofu...I keep trying it but have yet to be converted!

Anyway, restaurants in disney have always been so much better to me than those in the real world...pasta with a sauce or to be honest I'm often happier with a big plate of sides :goodvibes

If you make ADR's you can also inform Disney Dining of your DD Veggie diet needs and if she doesn't like tofu generally, inform them of that too.

I have found Disney very helpful with dietary needs.

I ate at scifi the one year and requested the ruben without the corned beef and they did not have a problem with that at all so I wouldn't see why they wouldn't leave the burger off the bun and just leave the veggies, I often do that at restaurants myself!

At Sci-Fi, the shrimp pasta without the shrimp is phenominal :)

Generally speaking, it's not too hard to be veg at Disney. Table service is particularly easy. I would check out the vegetarian/vegan thread on this board :)

Hi
I don't eat any meat either and have always found something good to eat. I don't like tofu either because of the texture. Buffets would be great, because there is a wide variety of foods to choose from. I've ordered at counter service restaurants and asked for them to leave the meat out of the sandwich. I ordered a sandwich at AK without the meat and I just had to wait a little longer for it. Also, I've ordered mexican food and asked them to make it without the meat. Have a great time!

Even at a counter service they can accommodate a vegetarian request. Just ask at the ordering kiosk to speak with a manager. My sister is vegetarian and doesn't like mushrooms. We were at Backlot Express and she wanted to order the veggie panini. She asked the cast member at the kiosk if the sandwich could be ordered without mushrooms and was told no because they are essentially pre-made and then heated on the panini grill, but if she was allergic to anything in the sandwich a manager could have a fresh one made without the item specially for her. So while my sister did stretch the truth juuuuuust a little bit, (she's not allergic) they were able to accommodate her request. She would have been happy to pick the mushrooms out, but the CM at the ordering kiosk got the manager anyway. It took longer than usual to receive her food but we didn't mind waiting at all.

She never had a problem finding items at sit down or counter service places in any of the parks or resorts. Most places that serve burgers have a veggie burger option. My sis particularly liked the one at Cosmic Ray's because it was rice based and not bean based. This may have changed since then, but she also loved the toppings bar!
