My dream of having a disney wedding is jsut out of the financial question. I was thinkin since i live only 5 hours from vegas of having a ceremony in one of their beautiful hotels and getting a suite afterwards to party the night away. Somthing very small but something i could enjoy. Does anyone have any opinions on this or has done this and regreted it?

Have you looked into the intimate wedding that Disney has to offer? I bloelieve it is only in Florida at this point. I am sure that you will have a wonderful time no matter where you get married.

Prices in Vegas vary widely. We looked at this option for our VR. Bellagio is just as much as WDW, if not more. The better hotels and chapels are not cheap.
There are lots of smaller non-hotel chapels and chapels at less expensive hotels, as well. Try LasVegas.com for more information. Good luck!

I'm getting married in Vegas in July. Believe me, I think I looked into almost all the options!

The nicest chapels I saw were at the Luxor and the Excalibur. Yep, believe it or not the Excalibur chapel is quite beautiful!
http://www.excalibur.com/weddings/packages.php - it really does look like the picture! Their packages start at $365 plus about $55 for the officiant, and that includes flowers and some pictures.

We're doing the Luxor, where the setup is really good. The staff there are fabulous and they have a separate dressing area for the bride to use. Most of the Vegas chapels don't.
http://www.luxor.com/superset.php3/weddings/chapels.php3 Their packages start at $675

You might find these helpful:
http://members.shaw.ca/aeaston/chapels.htm - is a listing of chapels I put together last year when we were trying to decide what we wanted to do. The pricing is probably a little out of date.

I live in Las Vegas and will be getting married here in September. There are *a lot* of different options here. Like a previous poster said Bellagio is very expensive, as are some others. But depending on what you are looking for there are a variety of different choices. A lot of brides I know chose to get married at the Flamingo. The hotel isn't that fabulous but they have great wedding reviews. Caesars Palace has a beautiful outdoor area for weddings. Speaking of which, if you do want to get married outdoors (or even indoors) there are plenty of wedding facilities that aren't in a hotel that would be cheaper. We're getting married at Emerald Gardens. It's absolutely beautiful. I love it. Others that we liked were The Ritz (also has indoor facilities), Rainbow Gardens (indoors with an indoor garden site as well), Sunset Gardens, etc. The options seem endless. :) If you want any more info on anything Vegas wedding related feel free to ask. I've done lots of research. Also, a great place for reviews and information is TheKnot.com then go to the local Vegas boards. They have tons of info and a lot of brides who have already been married post there. They will gladly give you reviews on the place where they had their wedding.

Hope this helps and happy planning!

I think a Vegas wedding is a fabulous idea. Actually DH2B and I had been planning on getting there before we had found out about Disney's intimate packages. We were looking into getting married at Treasure Island. Their packages vary from about $600 to $1000, including photography, hair, make-up and such. Also you can have a wedding cake sent to your suite for very little. They also offer you a discount on your room if you get married there, and take you to the court house in a limo.

I have to say this about going to the courthouse in a limo - now that I've been to the courthouse I just don't see the point of going in a limo. First of all I highly recommend to anyone getting married in Las Vegas NOT to get the license the day of the wedding. You can get it any time up to 12 months before the actual ceremony, so plan on getting it at least the day before.

The reason I just don't see the point to a limo is this: The courthouse is about a 15 minute drive from the strip. Once you get there you'll have to wait in line to get your license. There's no express line for people in limos. When we went the line was (we're told) relatively short - our wait time was an hour. I felt really sorry for the brides who were getting married that day and were already dressed up, having to stand in line for an hour. There's no place to sit either, you stand the whole time.

And be prepared to fend off the occasional chapel-pusher who'll come up to you in line and offer to whisk you away to a chapel right then to get married.

First good luck to you in whatever you may do. I am a little opposite of you. I live in Orlando and got married in Vegas. We were married by Elvis and I would have never had it any other way. We thought Vegas would allow us less stress and though it did we still had a lot of people go with us. As others on here have said Vegas can be just as expensive. Between the liscence, the ceremony, the events of the night, and we also stayed in a jacuzzi suite at the Luxor overlooking the strip.Your wedding though is one of tose days you never get back. I started planning in advance and saved and worried but in looking back I wouldn't have done it any other way. If you have your heart set on one way try and find a way to do it. Vegas was what my heart was set on and we found a way to make it happen. Don't get me wrong Vegas is a great way to go but you have to do it the way you really want to.Good luck and if you have more indepth questions about a Vegas wedding ask and I will pass on all the knowledge I received. I had the most beautiful wedding cake from a great place.
