Vegas stories

Just back last night. :woohoo: We went for my birthday and saw INXS with friends. The best show of all is just sitting and watching people though. It's a hoochie mama and comb-over paradise.

We went to N9ne at the Palms for dinner and they were filming "Inked" in the tattoo parlor in the lobby. The Palms is a little young for me, but it has the loosest slots at almost 94% payout. I also love shopping in Vegas. The Forum Shops at Caesars are my favorite. DH took me to David Yurman there to get a beautiful watch for my birthday.

My best advice is get to the airport EARLY when leaving. The security line can take 60-90 minutes because everyone wants to carry their weekend bag onto the plane.

Last month, 3 girlfriends for a shopping trip, nights went something like this...
Wed. Chippendales, Fri. Thunder From Down Under, Sat. tried to get tickets to Comedy show, but sold out, so you guessed it....Chippendales.

Of course, we did shop and sight see too! But, the nights.....

No wild stories since we had the kids with us, but it was funny how you totally lose track of time and distance there. The night we arrived it was about 10pm Vegas time when we checked in at Excalibur. So that was 1:00am our time but we weren't tired at all. We immediately started walking around MGM, NY NY, and Excalibur and just standing out on the bridge looking at all the lights. We ate Krispy Kremes and did not keep up with the time. When I finally tried to get the kids to bed, it was 2:00am (5:00amour time) and we had been up for almost 24 hours at this point!

Yep thats how I was the first time there...sensory overload!

Now I have no problem checking in and taking a nap..lol

I can imagine we will have the same problem. There´s an 8 hour time difference between Iceland and Las Vegas so we´ll be up in the middle of the night. At least there´s something going on then...

Ooh I have a Vegas story,
My husband and I visited Vegas about 5 years ago, acually it was our very 1st visit to America. So I had seen a few times on the Discovery chanel a programme about the Venetian and I had always said that if we visited Vegas I would stay there. So we booked it, the cheapest suite.
So we arrived after about 20 hours traveling, now 9 hours behind our time zone. We went to check in which we were asked if we wanted a smoking or non smoking room. So we replied (in our stereotypical British accent) "non smoking please." At which point the lady said that they had no non smoking rooms left so they would have to upgrade us. At this point I thought great maybe a strip view instead of the car park! So we were given our room card and went to the elivator up to the 36th floor (2nd to top.) As we walked out of the elivator and down the coridoor to our room i noticed that the rooms had double doors. Our room was at the end of the coridoor, we were up graded to a high roller suite!!!! It was 4 times the size of my house!! It had 2 bedrooms, a 10 place marble dining table, a huge living room, 10 sinks, 5 toilets, 2 jacuzzis, 2 power showers, a jet/steam room and our own sauna!! Oh and it came with our own butler!! Also the view was amazing, both ways down the strip. We could see the erupting volcano at the Mirage, the pirate ship battle at the Treasure Island and the dancing fountains at the Bellagio!!

So I guess for 4 nights I lived the Vegas dream!!

Since I can´t stop thinking about Vegas these days (planning a 3 night stay at the end of our DL trip) I thought it could be great to hear some Vegas stories, from those who have been there.

Did you gamble? Did you win / loose? Any other funny stories to share?

I won over $1000.00 our last night in Vegas at the Monte Carlo. playing black jack. We didn't stay there but we won there right when it counted, our last night.
By the way, we are going for three nights at the end of our CA vacation as well.
I find the whole atmosphere a lot more relaxed then Atlantic City.

My younger sister and I went several years ago for her 21st birthday. We stayed at the Paris hotel and we had a great time. We visited a lot of the other hotels and tried our hand at gambling some. My sister hit the jackpot on the nickle shots (it was a complete whim that she played them, but she was tired of feeding the more expensive ones). Being the nickel slots, it wasn't a ton of money, but it was exciting!

Have a great time in Vegas! We had a blast (can't tell you all of it, because, well, what happens there, stays there of course ;) )

We have been there 3 times and the most memorable was when we were walking the strip and our tennis shoes were melting.
Second we were at the Caesars Disney Store(where else?) and the CM said they were closing the store. It was the middle of the day and we wondered what was going on. The CM couldn't say. Later a huge group of people entered the store and it turned out to be Michael Jackson. :sad2:

Thought of a couple of funny stories thankfully they are not from my own personal experience! :teeth:

DH and I were on the monorail going from Flamingo Hilton to MGM and this couple gets on the monorail. It was packed and standing room only. They were going to see KA *I think* and so they were dressed REALLY nice. She had on a gorgeous silk skirt and top. Well the monorail door closes and she has NO idea her skirt is caught in the door to the monorail. She gets jostled a little bit, falls to the left and RRIIPPPP goes her skirt leaving her stading there in her undies and garter! It was quite a sight! :rotfl:

The other was an obviously over-served woman at the Tom Jones concert at MGM. She was on her way up to throw her panties on the stage when she tripped, fell and split her head open. :teeth:

Love Love Love Vegas !!!!! I would have to say my most memorable was our last trip ! we had a large group of people come with us since we were renewing our vows, well we had been drinking all day and by the time it was time to renew, well, we were pretty well gone ! we get to the top of the Stratosphere for the festivities and I couldn't remember anything that I wanted to say to my DH, it was pretty embarassing :rotfl:

Another trip I was playing black jack and on an unbelieveable lucky streak! well, the group I was with had gone to bed because we had an early flight in the morning, I had stayed at that table all night long and my friends couldn't find me when it was time to go, I didn't have a cell phone then either and ended up missing my flight, they were so mad at me !!
