Hello!

My sister/best friend and I are headed to Vegas in May. We are staying at the Wynn (free with DBIL) for three nights, but need a hotel for a night before and after our Wynn stay. At this point, I have narrowed it down to Treasure Island (good reviews), the Mirage (decent reviews, awesome pool) or Barbary Coast (good reviews). I have not stayed at any of these places, so if you could give me your pick and the reasons for your pick, that would be great.

Please feel free to suggest an alternative, as long as it is on, or near the Strip(no rental car), and in the $100 to $150 a night range.

Thanks in advance for your help!

There are several good sites to check for Vegas hotel rates. We recently used i4vegas.com with good results.

As far as recommendations, I would have to go with Paris or Mirage. There is also a really nice place just off the Strip called Tuscany. It is an all suite hotel within walking distance of the Strip (I think it is on Flamingo.) I personally don't like Treasure Island.

Of the three you mentioned, The Mirage is the nicest.

Barbary Coast is old and really needs an upgrade, I dont know if they still encourage smoking but that is what pops into my head from the last time I entered... its been a few years.

Treasure Island is/was built as the a more family oriented "MIRAGE", bit lower end but still nice.

We stayed at The Mirage last year and loved it! They have a great spa that you can use for about $20. They also have some nice restaurants and bars. The pool is awesome!

Treasure Island is a cool looking place. We had dinner at the Mexican restaurant in there one night. Both hotels are close to the Wynn.

TI is nice, Mirage is pretty nice.
We liked the Aladdin/Planet Hollywood, which we got for $49 a night. There used to be a great site I might be able to dig up that had codes for cheap rates there.
No matter where you stay, Vegas is so much fun!

ETA: Found it! http://sdm3.com/viewmsg.cfm?n152s3218c16108945t2327

hope it works for you! Most dates are $49 a night!!! Let us know what you decide to do. this link also offers 2/1 buffets coupons, 2 free show tickets I believe and free slot play up to a certain amount.
these offers expire quickly, but they also are offering the same type of offers VERY often!!! Got this off of the similar chat board to the DIS, called Travel2vegas

Wow, thanks! My dates are $89/night, but that is still pretty good! I have stayed at the Aladdin and loved it.

Yes we like it too, just be advised that the "rebranding" to the Planet Hollywood resort is taking place. So some areas maybe(I dont know) closed off due to construction and such. It should be fully functional by October.

They keep pushing that date back, don't they?

We liked TI. Whatever you do DO NOT stay at the Las Vegas Hilton (by the convention center) We've had to stay there 3 times over 4 years b/c of conventions and it get trashier every time.
