VEA Shuttle or Private Taxi?

Which would be the best way for us to get back to the Airport. We are travelling back on a Sunday and flying from Orly Airport. However, the last shuttle bus is at 18:55 and our flight is not until 20:20.

Is the VEA Shuttle reliable. I don't want to wait for the bus and it not turn up then not get to the airport in time.

How many of you are travelling? As if there are say 4 or more then a shuttle can work out as not much more than the VEA.

What time is the VEA bus before the 18.55 one? I'm not sure I would want to catch that one just in case there is a mishap on the way to the airport ~ I would rather catch an earlier one and be waiting at the airport.

We found the VEA shuttle very reliable. But don't you need to be at the airport 2 hours before your flight leaves? So if your flight home is at 20.20, you need to be at Orly airport for about 18.20. Its advised on the VEA buses themselves, and on the schedules, to give yourself at least an hour and a half for travelling to the airport, longer on Sundays and at rush hour, so that would mean, for you, getting the VEA shuttle from your hotel at about 16.30 I would think.

thanks for all the info. ive just re-read my post and realised that ive put the wrong time on our flight back its 22.20 not 20.20. but thanks for all your advice i really appreciate it. I think I will trust to luck and hope that the VEA turns up. if worse comes to worse i can always get the hotel to book a taxi for me.

We have used the VEA before with no problems, however when I looked at taxi transfers for this year it seemed that it wasn't going to cost much more than taking the bus. In the end I booked with bstransport and it is exactly the same price for a return journey (for 5 adults) as it would be for 5 of us to take the bus so it's worth having a look. A taxi might not be as much as you expect - not sure how many of you are travelling though.

I used the VEA in October when I went with my fiance for his 21st and it seemed ok then. I think it should be ok. There will be four of us. 3 adults and one child aged 6.

We used VEA last year in July an.d it was very reliable, using private taxi this year as the will be 8 of us
