In theory in the future that may all be theme park and then many people will love it. So I’m glad they were forward thinking but for now… agreed .

Agreed, if you have to touch your nose (and forehead) to the glass to see "the view" it shouldn't count as preferred. If sitting on the bed or lying in bed doesn't see the attraction, then that is not a "view".

I think I'll just book standard view from now on. Both times I've booked preferred, I've gotten terrible views overlooking alleys or the neighborhood on Walnut. I shouldn't have to complain every time.

Very true that is what they did at BLT for some of the lower theme park view rooms and made them standard.

They should change those to standard. It's really just the monorail pool view that should be preferred. @eticketplease, do you know when BLT changed those room categories?

I complained the first time and switched rooms. The second time I had my 80 year old mom with me, so I didn't want the hassle of changing rooms.

Nope, it'd be a "resort" view ;-)

Remember, Standard Views don't exist at WDW anymore......

If we get the view of the DVC pool I actually prefer a lower floor since then you only see the pool area and not the houses. It feels much more “preferred” that way.

Yes, then it becomes actually a preferred view, which is why they need to change the category for those. I believe BLT does the same with their Theme park view, if its too low of an floor its standard, but still faces the park.
