Im not sure either im thinking no too, because we were offered to sit at the terrace and when we said no we prefer inside then we had to wait downstairs until something became available. I will ask next time tho.I don't know for sure, but I think it might be possible. Hmmm. The more I think about it, the more unsure I am. To be seated either inside or outside, they need to welcome you to your chairs/table if inside, or to the terrace area if outside. So even if you're on the terrace, you're already admitted into their system, so I'm not sure if you can still be on the waitlist for indoor seating.
Wouldn't more people mean more sales? I want this thing sold out alreadyDisneyland has gotten the reputation of a locals park (is it still? most likely). Time share concepts don’t sell well out here. VGC was a tough sell. Cast members would try to solicited your attention. (Similar to VDH now). That small DVC spot took time to sell. These VGC points that come available, don’t attract the new buyers. That price is nuts for anyone but the add-on emotion (heart vs head) buyer. There are so many more members now, making VGC appears more popular and desired than during its original selling period.
Disneyland puts out only ONE pass option for residents. WDW has ALL but one pass option for residents. Guest numbers stats are sourced different on each coast. (Glance at that screen after Spaceship Earth). DVC will continue to sell more daily/monthly/yearly points for Florida than California.
Nowadays it has gotten harder for a family to do a proper visit without multiple days. The one and two day, rip through the side by side parks, is long gone. Even locals have to be selective each visit now. (Not enough Disneylands to keep up with the population growth). 1955 Anaheim at 14-15K range, now well over 340K (Just Anaheim alone!).
VDH will have Guides (or these Counselors) employed here for a long time, selling into the 2030’s, as we continue to watch each incentive period.
Awesome that they're listening and proactively reaching out to you. Maybe they do know exactly who you are here. If they don't know me yet and if they wanted to, they can probably piece together a few items to identify me. It is a little scary to consider, but hopefully they won't use it for anything bad.Omgahhh the guest experiences manager emailed me this morning apologizing about the issues we had at vdh with the front desk and deliveries and offered to call me to discuss my concerns. I was not expecting that.
Maybe they know who I am with our hot VDH threadhahaha. The thread has been their recent bread and butter and it must be positive only
Joking aside, I am so happy they listened and care. I pointed out all the wonderful things about the hotel as well and I am confident the lil gift card annoyance will be resolved. Can't wait to return, currently stalking end of the month!!! BUY VDH![]()
Im pretty sure its obvious in my case with the screename and yes i appreciated them caring enough to email and call me!Awesome that they're listening and proactively reaching out to you. No it was in response to a survey! So they do read them because theyve never called me over a survey before!Wait so you didnt tell them about this at all, you only posted here on the boards, no survey or anything? I am bit behind on all threads.
Wait until you read my sos post about what is happening to all of my reservations nowWait so you didnt tell them about this at all, you only posted here on the boards, no survey or anything? I am bit behind on all threads.
Oh okay. Im glad they reached out.No it was in response to a survey! So they do read them because theyve never called me over a survey before!
Me too! Now let's see if that gc machine works next time!Oh okay. Im glad they reached out.
I would go direct IMO. The difference is not significant enough between resale and direct to go resale despite having a healthy amount of points that can be used in other places. There's still 48 years left on those contracts and it would just make it easier to be able to flex those unrestricted points around wherever as needed. Your current portfolio also only has 200 direct points out of 700, I think this makes it even more reasonable to go direct. Who knows if you eventually want to book a GV for example at RIV or something but don't want to blow through all of your PVB points for the next 3 years? Direct would obviously be my choice.Hey everyone, I’ve been following this thread for a while and just wanted to reach out to get some opinions.
We have a family of 3 (my wife, my 5.5 year old son and we are a Disney family like everyone else here, we love this community). My wife and I have been to all the Disneys in the world and trying to take our son to each one as well. We are from Toronto, Canada.
We currently own 710 DVC points (Resale - 200
BWV, 200 - BLT, 160 - SSR, and Direct - 150 PVB), so we have our fair share of Disney World points. We just used our Saratoga points and booked 5 nights at VGC and had a blast (we got really lucky at the 7 month window). We toured the VDH hotel and loved it and looking to possibly add on a Disneyland resort specifically VDH.
Just wanted everyone’s thoughts about buying 150 points resale vs direct for this resort. We understand the restrictions for resale, but since this will be our only Disneyland contract we won’t be using it anywhere else and we have our WDW points to use for other resorts. As of right now with incentives it is about $205 direct , and from my research about $160 resale. Any thoughts given our current situation with direct or resale for VDH. We also usually stay in 1 bedrooms for the extra space. Thanks !
You might get some more replies if you start a new thread. But, my quick opinion is that I wouldn't purchase VDH resale right now. The spread between direct and resale just isn't enough IMO to justify foregoing the ability to use your points elsewhere. With DL FWD, who knows what the future will bring to DLR and DVC there. I'd want any VDH DVC points to be unrestricted. Now, if VDH were going for RIV resale prices? That would be a different story.Hey everyone, I’ve been following this thread for a while and just wanted to reach out to get some opinions.

I would caution against buying VDH resale, especially because of how far away you live from the resort. If you buy VDH direct and can't get a reservation there, you can still use those points for VGC. If you buy resale and life happens and you can't get to VDH for a couple years, you'll have to rent your points or lose them. I live driving distance from VDH and I wouldn't buy resale there because I want VGC as a backup.Hey everyone, I’ve been following this thread for a while and just wanted to reach out to get some opinions.

Have to really be committed to VDH going resale. Not a bad idea with what you have already but only if it’s much better than $140. One thing about a restricted to that resort contract, is UY won’t matter. Can get whatever one is in lowest price range, having the right number of points desired.Hey everyone, I’ve been following this thread for a while and just wanted to reach out to get some opinions.

She does have direct PVB points which, granted, probably won't be that easy to use at VDH, but they could still be combined with those resale VDH points. I'd personally still want the UY to match those direct points for maximum flexibility. One thing about a restricted to that resort contract, is UY won’t matter.
Has other direct but all are worthless for booking a one bedroom at 11 months. The rare times they want to extend a trip using other points at 7 months, could be done with a transfer. She does have direct PVB points which, granted, probably won't be that easy to use at VDH, but they could still be combined with those resale VDH points.
