VDH Questions for Purchasing

Oh yeah I need to, our room was 245 and no pictures there! I only took video, but ill take some screenshots.

I thought there was only one HA deluxe preferred based on the maps/pictures shown, so I was surprised to get a second floor one!

I liked that it was adjacent to the garden studios so it felt like we were pretty close to the pool too albeit the view partially being obstructed by the garden rooms, it almost felt like half a preferred view. Still, my wife commented this was a much better view than our other room, she didnt know this was a different category so it was noteable.

I kept thinking man I wish they put balconies in these rooms!

How would you rate your wife's love of Disney on a scale of 1-10? Is she coming around?

My wife I would say about a 6 or 7. But I'm working on it

I would say 6 to 7 as well! She likes being in the hotel room and the dining and shopping, but I do notice that she doesnt care about rides really and dvc related things like swag and wanting to go to member cruises, she would be just as happy going on a regular cruise. I think she thinks Disneyland rides are outdated and the nostalgia isnt there for her because she didnt grow up here.

She doesnt understand why I get so excited dvc stuff like MM, I feel like she'd rather be in bed than stay up for it lol. Shes the type thats like why do i want all these snacks id rather have a nice sit down meal lol! Same for the lounge shes like why dont they have hot cheetos or more stuff thats bigger not 1 oreo lol. While im all elated to be somewhere "Disney exclusive"

I think i get away with so many trips because of the stuff I plan, im trying to get into napa rose when reservations go on sale today and that will result in a justification for another stay next month that she is happy with because Napa Rose is good Lucky for me she is super chill and happily tolerates my obsession lol

I dont know how else to work on it other than sprinkle in fancy dinners and be cool with her shopping lol. She really wanted a Lululemon $350 jacket yesterday, which is i insane to me, I get nervous to go in the stores we spent hundreds at Sephora and then Lululemon, I need that money for more DVC and other Disney events lol so disneyland hotel being through dtd is a danger zone for me I must navigate lol.

The weird thing is I don't even go on the balcony that much when I have one, but it really bugs me when it's not there.

I like to have my coffee there in the morning, I guess I need to start requesting balconies everytime, it just bothers me because why not!

I did feel special tho because we wore our robes down to the pool and people staying at the Disneyland hotel were like "where did you get those, we dont have any! Are those for dvc???"

I said we were dvc and theyre like oh thats why the regular hotel doesnt have any, you have to be dvc and pay a lot. I was like yeah thats right we fancy lol

I also like that you can actually get rooms in the 11 month priority, which is the whole point. We've been able to get almost everything we've wanted or if not some dates that are close and hopeful with wait lists.

I feel like a Disneyland priority is necessary for us that go regularly and need to stay at disneyland for more than one or two nights at times. Since theres only two hotels we cant just rely on good ol okw or ssr as a backup!

So I think only some of the studios, duos and 1 bedrooms have them so the need to request is pertinent always lol. Someone correct me if im wrong. I dont understand, why make some 1 studios with them and some without. That is probably going to be the number one request here or at least for me.

There is a post that lives somewhere here of me saying why would anyone get a one bedroom when the studio is half the cost and you can take more trips. One month later, I was in the Rofr thread and SSR was born.

We really don't use it much either. But it's very helpful in the winter to be able to step out there and decide if I need to change into pants or get a jacket.

For us, it's a 6 night minimum these days. Really hoping it won't be hard to get 6-7 nights in a 1 bedroom if we buy points at VDH.

I dont think it will be at 11 months from what ive seen and those accessible rooms open a lot more options, but its def harder to snag last minute, but still way easier than vgc.

I managed to get april, june and november in a one bedroom for two nights before the grand villa decision. Since November is farther out, could have gotten more on that. Holidays are easy to book with christmas and halloween and some Thanksgiving weekend nights open which is great.

The april and june had one night i wanted and one I didnt so waitlisting for exact dates would have happened, but i would have been ok if I got 1 of 2 of the exact dates I wanted! I def wouldnt have as much luck at vgc! Id rather have priority with some flexibility with the way I change my mind

Only Garden View (Both Duo's and Studios), 1 and 2 bedrooms along with the 2 Grand Villa's have balconies unfortunately.
