VDH Questions for Purchasing

I've lurked in this thread, but I am in Tustin! Grew up studying for AP exams in line at Disneyland, too. 🤣

I ruled out VDH when I originally purchased a couple years ago, but a lot of life changes have me looking at a potential move to Orlando in a few years, so I am back to contemplating adding on at VDH! Knowing I'd have the 11 month window for visits back home is so tempting... @Girlstar30 you have given me so much to think about!

ETA I also worked at DL in college! I worked in Toontown attractions while attending UCLA. That was a rough commute from Tustin every day, eek.
LOL we're going to switch places pretty soon. Everyday about 2 minutes after leaving my garage on the way to work I see the Epcot ball all lit up early in the morning. I really do like living here but family and other personal reasons are calling me home which is why long term I knew VDH/VGC didn't make sense for us at least for the way I'd use it.

Wow I had no idea people would like this thread🤣 I thought people would tell me im not ready to purchase because I dont know what I want and then argument would ensue 🤣🤣

I am pleasantly surprised by all the info thats come out of it šŸ˜… I knew nothing about VDH three days ago and everyone has helped me realize that this is the life for me 🤣

Omg I worked at toontown too, Roger rabbit, gadget go coaster mickeys house (my favorite) and that bounce house they used to havr i forgot what it was called. Maybe we know each other šŸ˜…

I believe i was 17. There was a hurricane, ive never been in a hurricane and I remember we had to stay in our hotel room. I thought it was crazy and remember going to thr balcony trying to see it coming towards us. The first time I went to Disneyland I was 7. We didnt have annual passes, I grew up going to knotts berry farm. I didnt become disney obsessed until I was a cast member. For some reason thats a thing. Working there was really fun it was my favorite job, but a lot of drama lol!

Smiling thinking of all the memories. I remember Mr toads wild ride had cars that you could bump them into each other. We weren't supposed to do that, but we did because it was fun and then the bumper fell off and we all got in trouble 🤣🤣

Grad night we would bring a bunch of candy and eat sugar all night to stay awake. I remember being terrified the first time I had to walk thru snow white at the end of the night after the park closed. Maybe that's why I like it so much so many funny memories.

I dont like avatar at all. Ive tried watching it several times and I fall asleep every time. Same with Harry Potter and star wars. But I still like pop culture and so I enjoy the rides. Im looking forward to it!

I would really love a zootopia land. I think animal kingdom not putting one where dinosaur land was is a missed opportunity

What years did you work at Disneyland?

What years did you work there? I always wonder if I've crossed paths with people here on the forum.

Why adding 55 haha. Would that be your first direct purchase?
Yes it would be my first direct purchase. I basically have too many points as is, so I’m sure I already talked myself out of it, but it may not be a bad option to have some VDH to bank and borrow to use every other year along with VGC every opposite year.

And 55 gets me enough nights in a studio every year, or 1bd every other year.

What's your point breakdown rn?

I’m so glad you are taking this route! I thought it would be best all along for you but I said nothing because I assumed you’d already looked into it and decided against it. I definitely believe it’s the right choice for your direct contract.
