How hard is VGC going to be to book at the 7 month mark? I know that it is the only DLR DVC that is offered. And there are 8, I think, at WDW. Would it make more sense to buy VGC to make sure that I get DL anytime I want and take whatever is available when I need WDW?

Also, how long do you think that VGC will be on sale for? (and don't say until its sold out :lmao:) Is it realistic to think that it will be sold out this year?

No one really knows for certain as to when this resort is going to sell out. There's no precedent, having been the first DL DVC resort to go for sale. It might sell out by May or maybe by this fall.

However, the demand for booking is sure to be high. If you don't own there, you won't be booking it. This is our opinion and that of DVC staff.

I think the VGC are going to be booked up pretty early. There are only 48 (I think) units. And out of those there are only 2 Grand Villas. We bougt in so we would have the 11 month window. I would expect them to sell out this year, not sure how many months, but this year.

I do not know, but they have great incentives right now! I do know they have been selling a lot of points at VGC. Does that mean they will sell out this year..I do not know. If you want to stay there I would consider buying there, because it is a small resort only 48 units. I think It will be hard at 11 month advance reservation for popular times, let alone the 7 month time period.

I am interested in buying BLT and I asked my guide the same thing about BLT. She said it would not be like VGC sales which were crazy, but she anticipated BLT ( it is much larger) would be available at least till the end of the year! Maybe this might be some indication that VGC will sell out sooner! Good luck with your decision!

LIke the pp's have said, no one really knows for certain when it will sell out, but it certainly appears that sales have been quite brisk. Again, it will be the smallest DVC resort, and the only one at DL, and it has been highly anticipated for a long time now. It's still anybody's guess as to the actual availability, but I personally think that VGC will be next to impossible to book at the 7 month window except for the rare cancellation that would then make someone else's day! Only time will truly tell. We bought at VGC to ensure that we would at least have that 4 month long window over non-owners, since the earlybird gets the worm.

It won't sell out by May. And I'd be surprised if it sold out by the Fall. VGC may be small, but it's a lot of points. And, based on my guide (I know one person's experience doesn't make it universally true) there are been very few California sales other than in California.

I don't know about that.

Someone posted a poll of where VGC owners live, and of the 6 responses so far, 2 live east, 1 midwest, 2 west but not California, and 1 California. (But it is only 7am California time now, so that will probably change. But it's something to watch.)

Authur,
The fundamental question is how far in advance would you be able to book your reservation? If it is always spur of the moment, it would not make any difference where your home resort was. Another question, (assumes you are able to book more than 7 months in advance) what percentage of your stays would be at your home resort?

I don't know how long VGC will be on sale. :confused3 I am curious as to how the sales are doing, too. :)
