anyone in the know on these two options? going rate at Vero with magical beginnings now allowed compared to the going rate at bcv with the incentives? We just closed on bwv and want to add on somewhere...we live in North florida and kids and grandkids in south florida and orlando.

MB at VB and HH is still $10 per point for 50 or more points. You will have to sell back your 1st years points for this option.

The BCV incentive is $5 per point for 100 or more points (or the room voucher option).

You can buy at VB and HH for $65 per point with MB or $70 at BCV...at least until June when the price increases to $80.

I think the $5 or $10 per point is meaningless in making a decision about adding on. You want to buy where you plan to stay.

The additional dues at VB, and the possible increases there, will eat up any saving pretty quickly, the frustration of being forced to deal with the seven month window will far outweigh any savings.

that is an interesting perspective...we were thinking that we didn't really care where our points are and that perhaps we would like the idea of Vero and the beach (since we lived very near there for 20 years and still have kids and grandkids down that way)...we recently bought at bwv for the "action" for grown kids, but have stayed at okw for years and years as payees. Perhaps that is where we should buy! You know, it just really matter too much to us where as long as it is Dis. Tell me once more, richyams, why okw is the best deal! (we know it would have to be a resale, but no biggie since our bwv was a resale).
Thanks,

B and B:

I'll start and let Rich fill in the rest.

I just spent some time looking at the numbers, since we (okay just me so far!) are looking into more points. We currently own at OKW. We bought there, first and foremost, because it is where we wanted to stay. Since you indicated it doesn't matter; and you would be happy at OKW, BW, WL, etc. then here are a few other things to look at:

1. Historically, the dues for OKW have always been less per point than the other on-site or off site locations.

2. It takes less points for the same size accomodations. For example, I own 190 points at OKW (I am new to this game and started small). And this varies by season, but to stay in the same size accomdations in the same season at the other resorts for my planned stays this year (I am assuming I can't get BW standard) it would take 230 points. It seems to vary between 21% to 29% more points needed for other resorts based upon accomdation season and size. And, not only would I need more points for the same stay, but I am also paying the dues on more points--and at a higher rate to boot!

3. The room sizes seem to be signifigantly larger (above the size of a studio). Waiting to try a one bedroom myself--I hear the jacuzzi tub is huge!

Overall, you should buy where you want to stay. For our family, we enjoyed the Florida-themed OKW. It just so happened to be more reasonable--a bonus. However, for others, the activities of BW, the decor of WL, etc. are most appealing.

Well, I'll let Rich chime in. He can give you his thoughts on parking:D
