VB in October - few ??

We're thinking of a trip to VB in October. We were there in Oct 01 and 02 and had a wonderful time and would like to go back this year. I haven't called yet for reservations and am hoping I haven't waited too long. I believe I read somewhere (VM maybe) that they had postponed work to the pool so I'm figuring they'll work on it in the fall. Does anyone know if the pool was going to be completely shut down or what was planned? I'm going to have to borrow points and don't really want to do it if we're going to get a little letter a few weeks prior to our trip telling us the pool will be unavailable. We don't mind playing around the construction, but would be really disappointed if the entire pool area was closed.

They were planning to do roof work on the slide during Spring Break in March. They were going to close down only the slide. I'm guessing, like you, that they'll probably do this work in September/October. Originally in March, it was going to be the slide as well as the roofs throughout the pool area. The article sounds like they've completed all but the slide. When I was there in March, it actually looked like the work might have already been done, with the exception of the slide. No work was going on when we were there.
