The beach at VB does not look that great. It looks small and all the pictures I have seen, there is nobody on the beach. I am a BWV DVC member and was looking for a beach vacation, does everybody hang at the pool? Thanks.

The beach at Vero is narrow but it stretches for miles. I guess I would describe it as more of a "natural" beach. Personally, I love it. It's not a big beach resort area like Jones Beach in NY or Virginia Beach or Jersey Shore beaches. It's more like your own personal beach. The surf and riptides can be pretty rough and there is no lifeguard so you need to use caution when you go into the water (or else go up the beach a bit to the guarded park beach area). I would say that more people hang out at the pool than at the beach.

I really enjoyed the beach at VB. It was beautiful and relaxing. I liked the fact that it wasn't super crowded...but I suppose it depends on the time of year you visit. :)

I guess I'm going to be the bad guy here and say that Vero is not my most favorite beach. First off though I do want to say that we absolutely LOVE the resort. It is truly beautiful. We have been 2X and are going back next month. The pool is wonderful and we spent our time there. As for the beach, and remember this is just MY family's opinion, it gets a thumbs down. We had been to the Tampa/St. Pete's/ Captiva area of Florida before Vero so I guess we compare it to the west coast. Where the gulf side seems calm, Vero seemed rough to us. The sand didn't seem as nice either. The last time we were there there were numerous shark warnings. This could happen anywhere though so I am not saying I didn't like it because of just that. We also found it hard to walk on, the beach itself does not exactly invite a leisurely walk. Remember please again that this is just my opinion. I wanted to add my 2 cents in when I read your post. I think the best thing to do would be to try the resort for yourself. Overall my family really likes the resort, but because we are not crazy about the beach (along with other things) we won't do an add on there. 3 or 4 days are enough for us.

Remember everyone had their own tastes and preferences. Good Luck!!

We loved it!!! We also own at the BWV and had our first stay at VB in June
we are skipping our Disney portion of our next few vacations.. Next summer we will
stay at VB for 2 weeks!!!! Loved it, very relaxing. As afr as riptides go, we had great luck
the week we were there, my in laws were on the gulf side the same week, my niece had
to be retrieved from the waters by a life guard thanks to riptides. Sharks and riptides
are going to be present east or west.

We included VB in our WDW trip in June and really enjoyed the resort and beach. Now, being from Arizona, I don't know very much about beaches, but our family really had a nice time there on the beach. The water was warm and clear and the few days we were there, there were no shark warnings (I saw Jaws at a youth, and am still spooked by those critters!:D ). I did like it much more than the few beaches we visited on the Pacific Ocean, that's for sure!!!!

I liked the resort so much, I would love to include VB in our plans to WDW each year for a nice weekend get-away from the hustle and bustle of the crowds and all at WDW.

Im usually not a beach person, but I really enjoyed the beach at Vero. I liked when we walked out into the water and the sand was hard and packed. I hate crunchy seashell sand.

The best beach I have ever been on was in Bermuda at the Pink Beach Club and at Jobson's Cove near the famous Horseshoe Beach. The beach at Vero is not as picture perfect, but the overall experience at the resort is 1st class.
