Staying in a beach cottage (can't wait) and since I'm a planning screwball I have a couple of questions. Where do we park? Are there Bellhops to assist you with the luggage and groceries? Last and probably silliest question, is there an icemaker in the refrigerator and if you need additional ice can you get it from one of the buildings eg. #14, 15 or the Inn? Thanks for your help!

you have to park under one of the buildings or in the regular parking spots, there are no special spots for the cottages. I just used the luggage carriers in the basement of the buildings and made a few trips.

Married at Disney thanks for the quick reply, do you have any info on the ice.
Being married at Disney, that is so great. We honeymooned at Disney in 1975 when there were only two resorts and we thought that $22.00 per night at the Contemporary was ridiculous so we stayed off site....chalk it up to young, stupid and poor!

You park under the buildings and/or in the open lots. I don't remember bellhops at VB, but someone may remember differently. Yes, there is an icemaker in the refrigerator.

No official Bellhops but they will send someone from MS to help you if you require it. I did this with one late arrival night with 3 sleeping kids in he car.

I can be made in the fridge or you can get buckets of ice in the ice machine under each of the villas.

I prefer the Cottages at the north end of the resort becuase they have more parking options that are closer than the other cottages

Cottages are simply put AWESOME! You will become VERY spoiled and never want to vacation any other way. :goodvibes

The cottage is amazing. I loved sitting on the deck in the morning watching the ocean.

We were married in the wedding pavillion with a reception at the grand floridian. It was supposed to be outside, but our wedding day it rained ending a 94 day "drought"...... oh well.

Have you been to VB? You'll love it. We loved it so much we bought resale points so we can go every year.

We are actually in Beach cottage 1250 right now. It has a great view. You will have to park and walk with your luggage. They do not have bellhops. They do have luggage carts that you can use. The walk to the Beach cottage is not to far from the parking. There are ice makers in the freezer in the cottage. We just brought some ice packs and froze some water bottles over night to keep the cooler cool while we are at the pool. I am sure that there are ice machines in the regular buildings which are near by. You will have a great time.

They do not have bellhops.

That's not entirely true. If, when you check in you ask for help with your bags, the front desk will send a bellhop. Similarily, upon check out you can call the front desk and ask for help. We've done this dozens of times.

I have to agree... we have never used the bellservice, but I have seen them wheeling the cart for people to and from the villa buildings on many occasions. I really want to stay in a cottage... Some day.... Lucky Ducks.

Thanks everyone for all your help. We have been to VB the past two summers and absolutely love it. This will be our first stay in a Beach Cottage, we know how lucky we are to be able to stay there. My DH and I are taking 3 DS's, 2 fiancee's, DD, and her boyfriend. We are so excited, can't wait to get there.

WOW... you NEED a cottage... Man, just imagine if you had 2 DD's with fiancee's... You might be selling your points at this point. Whew...

Last summer we had a large family group in a beach cottage and a few extra villas as well. What a great time. We called the restaurant ahead of time because we wanted to buy the first night's dinner for everyone and didn't want them to worry about prices. The chef gave us our own dining room, made up menus with about 3 options on it and even put happy anniversary to a couple who was celebrating on the menus. They even took all of our pictures together. We also had them go on and charge us for a refillable mug for everyone and when each family checked in the front desk gave everyone in that family a "free" mug. The rest of the time we cooked in the villa- well once we even had room service brought to the cottage(how lazy is that! - but we loved sitting on the deck. You will have so much fun!
