In continuing my report from this week. We left VB on wednesday and drove up to OKW for 3 nights.
In conclusion on VB, it is a 1st class, safe, and everything on the property is within a 5 minute walk (restraunts, pool, ocean, putt putt, etc). Parking under your villa is a plus. We were in bldg 15(1BR-1527). We ate at Shutters twice for lunch, they have the best hamburger-fries ($6.99) that I have had in a long time
. The ocean view from the Green Cabin Room upstairs is awesome!!
Within a 10 -15 minute ride, from the resort you can have your choice of all kind of restraunts,a Mall-with 24 movie screens, etc.
The Beach Cottages are "great". There are only 6 of them. Thats why we decided to add on more pts at VB, to be able to get the Beach Cottages at the 11 month window.
I forgot to mention, when we checked in at VB at 1:45 pm, our 1BR was ready.
We drove up to OKW on wednesday and got there around 1:00, and believe it or not
, our 1BR was ready too!!
We were in bldg 20 by Miller Rd. We were in the end unit, 2nd floor, no 3rd floor above us. We had a very nice view of the water, golf course, bridge by the HH. Buildings 11-14 were having worked done on them, so there whole parking area was off-limits.
We didn't do the parks this trip. Few of our friends were down here also, and they did MK on Monday and said it was 'PACKED" (shoulder to shoulder people) Went to the Boardwalk and had luch at the Big River Grille(they give FF miles
) it was ok, but probably wouldn't go back.We also used the valet parking at the Boardwalk. Then went over to the Beach Club Villa's to view the model over there. It was very nice, but don't like the idea of the 2BR having a sofa bed
.
Went to DD in the evening to the Comedy Club and 8 Trax and stayed for the fireworks at midnight.A funny thing was happening as we left Pleasure island at 12:10 am, there must have been 40-50 cars in the parking lot who's alarms were going off, headlights blinking, etc from the noise of the fireworks
But DD was packed, we got there at 9:00 pm and it took us 10 minutes to find a parking space. We also took the boat ride down the following day from OKW. All in all the trip to VB and OKW was very relaxing and enjoyable for the wife and I.
P.S. We were so "impressesd with the VB and the Beach Cottages, we added on 50 more pts at VB to give us 160 pts there.
