Hi,
We're trying to work out what our family vaction will be for next Feb. DH and I went to VB for 2 nights and thought it was great and would work well for our family vacation. We stayed in an Ocean View Inn Room and loved it. I do realize that the rooms on the side of the Inn are also considered Ocean View so we wouldn't be sure to get as good a view as our getaway trip. At first I was assuming we would get a 2 bedroom villa but after being in the Inn and loving it, I had the idea of 2 connecting ocean view inn rooms. I don't think we would really do any cooking, with the micro, toaster and 2 frigs we could make due. There is only 4 of us (maybe 5 if DD invites a friend) and we are trying for Presidents week which could be difficult. On the 4 floor the map had 7 pairs of connecting OVIR's so they are available.

What do you think? Polls are fun, lets make this a poll.

2 OVIR 130pts
2 Bdrm 165pts

I'd pick the 2 bedroom villa. For me, the extra space, full kitchen, washer/dryer and jacuzzi tub outweigh the view - especially since the ocean "view" is just steps away, LOL! (Think Green Cabin porch ;) ;)

Best wishes-

I disagree, go for the Ocean View Inn Rooms. If your not going to cook in the room the Inn rooms are ideal. The view is spectacular, Your steps from the pool, steps from the ocean access, steps from the Green Cabin room and steps from Sonya's and Shutters. Morning coffee by the pool, walks along the beach and convience of the inn. We did this on our recent trip and had a great time. Our sons had one room and my wife and I the other. Worked perfectly.

We stayed in VB for a week a couple of months ago. We had a 1BR villa, and LOVED having a washer/dryer. With all the sand, sunscreen, etc, it was nice to be able to have clean clothes easily. We also did not "cook", but we did have breakfast in the room, so the kitchen worked well for that. We had a view of the ocean and the campfire - really nice. Very quiet away from the main building (except during the campfires). Enjoy your trip!

You didn't say how long you were staying, and that would make a difference for me because of the washer/dryer if your stay is more than a few days. That being said, I love the ocean view inn rooms. The last two years that I have had one, there has been a door connecting to the next room. The one that I had in 2004 was HUGE - it was a corner room on the top floor at the pool end of the resort. The kitchen area was by the door when you walked in, and then you turned left to go toward the sleeping area. Up the little short "hallway" there was a dormer window on the right that overlooked the pool. To the left was the sink area and entrance to the bath. Then straight ahead was the bedroom area and balcony with a gorgeous ocean view. That room was wonderful. I can't remember the number, but it was top floor, south corner. I loved having a view of the ocean and the pool.

Well, we were thinking of 4-5 nights. I did check out the laundry room on the forth floor. It seemed pretty convenient, at least if you were on the forth floor. That ocean view we had was great!

For the sake of information.... there appeared to be 14 connecting rooms (7pairs) and 7 non connecting rooms on the 4th floor - ocean view. There is one more connecting that may or may not be considered ocean view with it's pair being a garden view.

Laundry can be a challenge if the machines are in use when you want to use them. We sent things out to cleaners to have them ruined on other trips to WDW. We had that at the Poly and the GF, and it helped us to make the decision to become DVC members. The YC/BC is also our favorite resort, so the decision to buy there was based on other things, not just dirty clothes!

If you are packing enough stuff, the inn may be the best choice. It sounds like the view is very important to you. Have a great stay!
