Circle your calendars.....Friday November 23, 7am.....Disney Store Vaughan Mills......The biggest sale of the year!!!

Anyone know how the VM store compares to the Limeridge or Square One stores? Is it much bigger? More selection?

I have been to those two and just wondering if it is worth the drive?

I live just outside Ottawa, and did a trip to VM earlier this year - for a BIG sale. I was shocked to find the store rather small and nothing great sale wise (pretty much the same deals I can get at home).

So, if VM is supposed to be a Disney Store Outlet, did I just hit the store at the wrong time?!

Cool! Right after US Thanksgiving...

Were there any details/hints in the e-mail as to what the markdowns would be like :)

The e-mail had no hints what so ever. Cabmom's message was all that was sent.

I live locally, and I find when there is a sale at the Disney Store, you're better off at your local store than VM. I have often found the large 50% sales going on at other locations, with 25% off at VM.

Vaughan Mills is the size of a regular store, and carries all the same stock as the regular stores, with additional clearance items in the back (much like regular stores).

Sometimes they get a large stock of a particular item, and then they clearance price it... I've been there when they had a huge shipment of women's baseball hats that were right out of the box being sold for $1.99. Once there was a large amount of T-shirts for $3.99.

I don't generally find such savings though. Like any Disney store, it's nice to stumble across a "sale" and there's always something marked down at any of the stores. I certainly wouldn't travel to VM just for the Disney Store... the Children's Place outlet is great though :thumbsup2

From the way the original poster's message sounds, I think you'll find the same sale at all the Disney locations. It's probably the pre-Christmas toy blow-out sale they have every year.

They had a big sale like this last year at all the Disney stores (I was working at one at the time). It's basically the US Black Friday sale that they've decided to carry over to Canada as well. Last year things were marked down 50-75%. There were some pretty decent sales and most of it was just for the one day.

Is Vaughan Mills an outlet or just a regular mall? Been there when it opened but haven't been back since.

I'd been told it was an "outlet", but per my earlier post, I did not find that the case when I shopped there during the summer. In my case, deals at home in Ottawa were better (especially selection wise!).

Must like you, I'd like to know if the store really is an "outlet" or not!

So did anyone go to Vaughan Mills or any other Disney Store today? I was thinking of going after work but it's really cold out :cold: (yeah I know, I'm a wimp :rotfl: )

Got the little one up early this morning, run into Ottawa... and I have to say, not very impressed. The sale was okay, but no extra 20% off until 10am like the American's had this morning... In fact, a couple mother's and I noted the T-Shirts were still regular price :confused3

I've had my eye on the Home Collection, and even with the 40% off today, it was still drastically more expensive then DisneyShopping.com. The set here is $39.50 minus the 40% "today only" (yah right, we all know it's going to go on sale right before Christmas or on boxing day!!).

Also - did anyone get any Mickey/Minnie Christmas plush today? I bought DS the tiny ones - which are normally 2 for $14.00. According to the sign, all Christmas stuff was supposed to be 50% off. I get home, look at the bill - and no discount. A call to the store... and "no, the Christmas plush was not on sale - the sign was in error". Oh well, not like I can take them back from DS now and the cost of gas would outweigh the refund.

Anyone get any decent deals at a Disney Store today?!

I went to the Disney Store in Boulevard Mall today in Amherst and the deals weren't that great. Didn't end up buying anything.
The stores were crazy here today!

Hey Ham Ham!
Just realized you are a fellow Mississauga and DVC member like me.

What was your stay at AKV like? I will be staying there in March (Savannah room) and would love to hear your opinions on it...thanks!

We were at the VM store today ( well, Saturday really!) and I found a few bargins, but not that many. I bought some things to put in the gift bags I am doing up for our trip in January. The bags are for my DD and her two female cousins. I was able to get the little towel things that you soak in water for about $2.00 each and the little fold up brushes for $3.00 each. They were in the "junky" bins where all the stuff was 40% off. I think they could have made all that stuff at least 60% off as it is way overpriced to begin with, but what cha gonna do?

I also got three sets of Minnie ears headbands which I am totally thrilled about!! They were in the sale section, marked down from $10.50 each to $6.99, with another 50% off! So, $3.50 each was a deal! They also had the cloth princess dolls marked down from $19.99 to $12.99, with another 50% off. I bought three of them as my DD has always wanted one. Each girl will get one in her bag.

Most of the newer stuff was only 25% off, which, for such a big deal sale, was pretty lame to me. Many things were not on sale at all.

Oh well, I can't get to the Disney store often so I still enjoyed it!

Have a great weekend, Suz
