We are making what will probably be our final trip on our season passes, and we decided to take disney up on free dining. We will be there for my hubbys bday this time instead of mine. Here is where we have already been in the past: (all of these are for dinner, we are never up in time for breakfast!)

Cindys
Crystal Palace
Rose and Crown
San Angel Inn
Le Cellier
Boma
O'Hana
ESPN Zone (mmm nachos!)
Beaches and Cream
Brown Derby
Chefs De France

We KNOW we aren't interested in Nine Dragons, Akershus, Marakeesh, or any of the Japan offerings. We can get excellent Japanese and Chineese here at home. We also know we dont want anything Italian. (well hubby doesnt anyway, so that puts it out of the running). We aren't interested in doing a dinner show like Hoop De Do either.

Anyone have a suggestion of somewhere we havent thought of? Our tentative list for now is: (nights 1-6)

1. 50's Prime Time (I am picky, will I like this???)
2. Coral Reef (bday for hub)
3. Boma (or maybe Jiko?)
4. Le Cellier
5. Crystal Palace (should we try Biergarten or LTT instead?)
6. ???? maybe counter service if we do a 2 credit one night

But we have already done 3 out of the five at least one time each. The only new ones for us are Coral Reef and 50's. We have been tossing around the idea of trying Biergarten, but I am picky and we are afraid I wont find enough to eat there. Dazzle me with your suggestions of a great place to try and reasons why! We would really appreciate some new ideas, and would love to hear your opinions on Biergarten, Jiko, Cali Grill, etc....

I think Biergarten would be okay for a picky eater. They have simple meat-and-potatoes dishes; you don't have to eat the sauerkraut or anything. If you can do Boma, I'm thinking Biergarten is fine. And we thought the desserts were great!

we love jiko for dinner! wonderful service and excellent food!! we have eaten at boma and everyone in our party(4 adults) was not blown away. we usually do not discuss our thoughts until afterwards. another one you might want to consider is flying fish on the boardwalk~fabulous!! there is more than just fish on the menu. what about artist point at WL? very nice and quiet dining experience. for breakfast another boardwalk eatery we like is spoodles~excellent. we are dining at biergarten in august for the first time. however, lunch at LTT is excellent as is dinner. there are no characters at lunch. i hope i have not "stirred the pot" too much w/some other ideas! LOL!! enjoy!

If you don't mind heading to DTD we LOVE Wolfgang Puck's. Excellent variety and everything has always been outstanding! We also prefer LTT to Crystal Palace. It is nice to have the family style meal instead of doing the buffet line.

I agree with Laura. There is rotisserie chicken, salads, and warm pretzel bread, along with more ethnic offerings. You can be as "safe" as you want here. I love the fun little "show" they have, and the theming is great. I love buffets too; if you tried something you don't like, you just go get something else. And no waiting for your food to be ready, which means you can get in and out as quicky or slowly as you want. We enjoy it! :goodvibes

Definately try LTT! We tried it for the first time last year and I wasn't sure I would care for their Thanksgiving Fare but it was by far one of the best meals and BEST character dining we've ever done! Much better then Crystal Palace for us!

You may want to call and try to book some ADR's soon - I had a hard time getting what I wanted at the end of Sept for the free dining promo. You can always book now and try and call and change some around later.

that you have to sit with people you dont know? I dont mind talking to folks I dont know here on the dis... but I am very shy and reserved in person....

You're seated at a large table with other guests, especially since it's only two of you. We didn't find that to be a problem, as we had empty seats seperating the two of us from a family of five. We loved the food there and the entertainment was nice. The very large steins of beer didn't hurt either ;)

What no Citrico's...it is one of the finer restaurants at WDW and at the Grand Floridian..just in case you wanted to try something special.

I would add Artist Pointe to that list. It could make for a great bday dinner! If you're husband is into steak I would suggest he tries the Buffalo. It was fantastic!

I am a bit picky (I'm a vegetarian, don't like some spices, don't like a lot of combinations of foods, etc.) and I went to Biergarten expecting to have a hard time finding things to eat. I was very pleased to find plenty of selections on the buffet that I liked.

Kona Cafe is another restaurant not on your list that I would highly recommend.

Definitely Kona Cafe! This was the highlight of our last trip! Delicious food.
