What do those who saw the movie think about it??? Did you like it or not???
I saw it in the theater and just rented it(will buy it or get it as xmas gift) but i really enjoyed the movie. I thought the movie made you think and kept my attention enough to stay up till almosy 3am to finish it. Thought it was very well done!!

I liked it. One of the best films of the recent spate of "life as a waking dream" genre. I also asked our Tech Board here if they'd seen it-they said no. "TECH SUPPORT!"

Haven't seen Amenabar's "Open Your Eyes"-and am actually not overly curious about it either, regardless of the popular opinions about the two films. May see it one day-he, Amenabar, seems talented and is a mere 28.

I hope the Tech Support is quicker here than it was for Tom Cruise in the movie!!!

I'll never say a bad word about the tech support here...too chicken. ;)

Now that you've brought the whole film up -I really did like the soundtrack to it. It had a real Cameron Crowe flavor-whatever that is.

I think the same night after first seeing Vanilla Sky I had one long dream about swimming with the Vanilla Sky soundtrack in the background-specifically the song while he's falling off the building-it sounded very Radiohead-y...?

I completely hated this movie. I thought it was a waste of time and money. Especially the end where they copped out and made it a dream. If they had gotten a little more creative with the ending I might not have hated it as much, but I doubt it.

Another hated it. Thought it was the worst movie I had seen of the year.

Bob, that's exactly my train of thought. I think it REQUIRES several viewings before a true understanding is enjoyed (or not) by the viewer. jmo

I WAS taken in by the movie, entranced, wondering, etc. But, I think with additional viewings, I might actually understand more of it!

I might be a mindless twit but, the ending was a little disappointing for me. :(

Good question though. I'm interested in 'hearing' other opinions also. :)

I got it, but I still didn't like it. I too just thought the ending was a cop-out and dumb.

I also thought the movie was better after seeing it more than once.
But of course not all people like thought provoking movies.

And, I probably will see this again (for my own sake) but, knowing the ending, do you think it implies Vanilla Sky 2?!?! ;)

LOVED that movie!!! I usually don't like to watch movies (I find most movies incredibly boring), but that one really, really caught my attention. I was just thinking I'd like to rent it and watch it again. I'm sure there are lots of things I missed the first time around. I found it very thought provoking also.

I enjoy a thought provoking movie just as much as the next guy, but this movie sucked. The only thought it provoked in me was "Why did I spend $8 to see this?". ;)

I like thought provoking movies sometimes and sometimes movies just to watch. I've seen it once and I think I missed half of it, I'll need to see it again to really get it all. But, I did like it.

The only thing I found thought provoking about it was how Tom Cruise appeared to be taller than Cameron Diaz in every scene, even though he is really shorter than her, and she had spiked heals on too! :teeth:

I enjoy " thought provoking" movies as well. I actually enjoy all types, foreign, comedy, sci-fi, musicals, classics, etc.

But this movie I just did not enjoy - I really hated it and was disappointed because I am a big fan of Cameron Crowe -

The only thing I liked about it was the sound track -

different strokes for different folks!

Requires very little thought :teeth: -the "soapbox" prop guy must've been hopping in this movie!

mornin' Simba!

I was exhausted when I watched it, so maybe I should watch it again. I ended up falling asleep.
