Vanessa- figmentfan814 ~ Happily Ever Wedding & 10th Anniversary VR Brunch #1 Added 8-10

Vanessa,
I was very excited to see that you used my favorite pic from your wedding (the one where you are holding the globe in your hand) in your signature! I get to see it all the time now :goodvibes I'm patiently waiting for more...I know how it is with the busy life and all. I also wanted to let you know that I haven't started my trippie yet because my home computer crashed. It won't recognize any software including windows, so it won't even start up. It is off at the computer doctor and until it is fixed I have to check up on you at work :thumbsup2 At least I still get to see your posts! I'll check again soon!
Anna Marie

I'm glad you like my new signature. I saw a similar shot from a previous bride and I told Randy that I had to have it! I'm hoping to get some more posted today, so stay tuned :happytv:

Vanessa, after reading through all of this, I am convinced you should be a wedding planner! Your attention to detail, as well as your thorough and gentle care of everything would be extremely appreciated by any bride!

Your gift bags alone were amazing. My jaw kept dropping!

Everything turned out beautifully.

:rotfl2: My DH keeps telling me this and everyone time he sees one of these posts he gets on me about it. I have been fortunate that I've planned a lot of major functions for nonprofits and for politicians, so event planning is always a blast for me! If I ever venture into party planning, I'll have to use some of all of your ladies wonderful compliments ;)

Vanessa-I've read through your trippie and pj,..and got hooked by the picture of you in your signature! I'm so happy for your and Kris! I really want to see more pictures of your reception at the Living Seas! That is me and my boyfriend's favorite place in all of Disney world...I'd love to have a reception of my own there someday...could you pm me or even just post more pictures from there for me to see ? Thank you!!

I'll be posting more soon, but if you want to PM me your email address I can send you some early :thumbsup2

Thanks for all the tips and info!!!! I would really like all the information about Fresh, that would be great!!! I was also wondering what the pressed penny guide was that was in your welcome bags, and if there was any way I could see that....Also, how did you determine who to invite to the tea party?? Was it just all the ladies?? Thanks again...:)

I just sent you over an email with the information for FRESH. I just did a blanket invitation to all the ladies that were coming down that weekend. Kris also invited all the guys for the Detroit Tigers baseball game at the same time. We had a few of the ladies that went to baseball instead, but that was okay too. I paid for my mom (Kris' mom wasn't there yet), my grandma, the bridesmaids, flowergirl, and my great aunt. Everyone else paid for themselves. We had 18 of us, so there was a pretty good crowd.

Here is the front page from the pressed penny guide. It just shows you all the locations on property where you can have a Disney character imprinted on the face of a penny through a big press.

I love your welcome bags! Wow... that must have taken a lot of time and effort. I am working on mine as well and was wondering if you could post a close-up of your Welcome Newsletter and Guest Tips Packet to give me some ideas. Your folder of goodies looks amazing!

I don't have the newsletter uploaded, but I can post an image tonight hopefully. I decided just to copy over the text of the tips in case you want to borrow any of them for your packet too. If you want them emailed to you just send me a PM.

General Tips:

Did you know?

Walt Disney World is the number one honeymoon destination in the world.

Fast Pass – learn to love them! They are in every park and on the most popular rides. This system allows you to stick your ticket into a machine which and then you get a “Fastpass” printed that lists a time to come back and ride your attraction. You can get one fast pass every two hours or five minutes after your current fast pass is valid. Great rides for FastPass at Magic Kingdom - Buzz Lightyear, Space Mountain, Winnie the Pooh, Splash Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain; Epcot - Test Track, Soarin, and Mission: SPACE; Animal Kingdom - Expedition Everest, Kiliminjaro Safari; Disney Hollywood Studios - Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster and Tower of Terror. Another tip for Fast Pass -send one member your party (the fastest walker) to the attraction with all of your group’s tickets, so they can get the fastpasses then meet back up with everyone to save on time.

If you do not mind being split up some popular rides offer a line of single riders. It will help if you do not have a fastpass and you want to get in and out. This works out great on rides like Test Track at EPCOT.

If you're staying at a WDW resort, tell the CM you want your purchases sent to your resort. This service is free to resort guests, & your package will be sent to resort shop for you to pickup the following day, so you don’t have to worry about carrying it around. Remember this only works if you aren’t checking out the next day. If you're not a Disney resort guest, you can have your package sent to the main entrance for picking up as you leave the park.

EPCOT Tips:

Did you know?

More than 30 tons of the fruits and vegetables served in Walt Disney World restaurants are grown in The Land Pavilion at EPCOT.

  1. Thirsty? Check out Club Coca-Cola in Epcot for FREE soda from different countries. Make sure to check out “Beverly” from Italy, it is delicious!
  2. In Italy, at the World Showcase, wander around behind the shops (where the fountains are) and look for little red press-buttons. If you press the button, water squirts from a different location.
  3. Excellent viewing for Epcot’s Illuminations is the bridge between France and the UK
  4. After watching Illuminations at Epcot, exit the International Gateway and walk around the Boardwalk and Beach Club area. Beaches and Cream has gourmet ice cream at reasonable prices. Ask about the kitchen sink! It contains all their toppings and ice cream flavors. Vanessa, Kris, and her parents attempted this feat once and failed because Kris’ mint ice cream made everything taste like mint! Boardwalk has a Sweet Shoppe with premium desserts at a lower price than the fancy restaurants. Also, check out a game at the ESPN Zone. When all closes at 11pm, you can hop a bus to Downtown Disney, and then change over to your resort.
  5. Our favorite attractions at this park are Soarin’, Test Track, Mission: SPACE, Journey Into Your Imagination with Figment! Also, take time to check out the great shops in the World Showcase, our top picks are Japan and the United Kingdom.
  6. Our favorite foods at this park are funnel cakes near the American Pavilion, eating at either of the restaurants in Mexico, Le Cellier in Canada (one of the hardest places to get a reservation at Walt Disny World) or heading out the International Gateway to walk over to Beaches and Cream at the Beach Club for a great burger!

Magic Kingdom Tips:

Did you know?

It would take one person, eating two hamburgers every meal, 4,109 years and 215 days to eat the number of burgers served at Walt Disney World each year.

  1. While at the Magic Kingdom, wait until the end of the night, right before closing to do the popular rides in Fantasyland. There is usually little or no wait and you can go on all the rides. If you get a chance try to get on Dumbo right around the time of the fireworks, it is so cool to be up in the sky at the same time they are going off.
  2. On Main Street in the Magic Kingdom, check out the old style phone in the General Store or the Main Street Market House. Pick up the receiver and listen in to a conversation going on. It's one of those old style turn-of-the-century phones, the kind with separate ear and mouth piece. There's another phone in Tomorrowland under the TTA and Astro Orbiter.
  3. At the shows and 3D rides, if you want the best seat, stay in the middle of the crowd in the preshow area. If you stand right near the doors, you'll have to move right to the end of the row.
  4. On Buzz Lightyear in Magic Kingdom, aim for the highest targets to score major points! Warning: Vanessa’s dad is a pro at this game, so watch out for a challenge!
  5. Need a break? Take a much needed rest by riding around on the People Mover in Tomorrowland. It is a slow attraction that moves on a track which passes through some bigger rides like Space Mountain. It’s definitely worth while if you’re afraid to ride the rollercoaster then you can at least see the inside of the ride!
  6. Great viewing for Magic Kingdom’s Wishes fireworks is to the right of the castle in the sidewalk area leading down to the water surrounded by roses.
  7. Our favorite attractions at this park are Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Space Mountain, Hall of Presidents, Buzz Lightyear, Carousal of Progress, People Mover, Pirates of the Caribbean, and It’s a Small World (okay the last is one of Vanessa’s favorites).
  8. Our favorite foods at this park are the pineapple dole whips in Adventureland, catching lunch at the Plaza Restaurant, or eating dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern.

Animal Kingdom Tips:

Did you know?

Animal Kingdom contains live plants from every continent on Earth except Antarctica.

  1. In Animal Kingdom, start early in the day with the Safari while it’s not hot to see the most animals. Or go when they have extra magic hours for resort guests- the animals will most likely be out later- when it’s cooler. We prefer going later because it is really hard to drag yourself out of bed that early in the morning!
  2. In Animal Kingdom on the Kali River Rapids be sure to stop on the bridge after exiting the ride. You'll find two elephants whose trunks will spout water at the unsuspecting riders below if you push their buttons
  3. Our favorite attractions at this park are Primeval Whirl, Dinosaur, Expedition: Everest, and the Lion King show.
  4. Our favorite foods at this park are pretty limited. Grab a chocolate covered frozen banana or enjoy some barbecue at Flaming Tree.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios Tips:

Did you know?

The coaster track for Rock’n ‘Roller Coaster was built first and then the building was constructed around it.

  1. Look for the key under the doormat at Muppets 3D in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Just after you go through the turnstile, go to your right and you'll find a welcome mat, take a peek underneath it. It is near the “Security Office.”
  2. On a corner across from the old Hunchback theatre at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, there is a streetlight with an umbrella attached to it. You pull on the umbrella handle and it rains (or more like mists) around you.
  3. Our favorite attractions at this park are Rock’n Rollercoaster, Fantasmic, Beauty & the Beast, Lights, Motor, Action! Stunt Show, and the Great Movie Ride (check out the Wizard of Oz scene for Vanessa.)
  4. Our favorite foods at this park grabbing lunch at the Sci-Fi Diner, dinner at the 50’s Prime Time Café, or splurge for dinner at the Brown Derby.

Did you know? Facts from “The Walt Disney World Trivia Book: Secrets, History, & Fun Facts Behind the Magic” by Louis A. Mongello.

Vanessa, I too would love to see the welcome newsletter and the guest tips. I was also curious about how you decided on who to invite to your tea party. I am just looking for what some different people did, as this has been a sticky point for me.

Thanks

Amy

Amy, as you can see from my other response I invited everyone to come to the tea. I was just more selective in who I paid for since we couldn't afford to cover everyone. I was happy that no one seemed jaded or upset that we didn't pay for everyone because if we would have had the extra cash I would have been happy to host them all!

pixiedust: After making the call to Disney Floral we headed out to take some shots around the World Showcase. We started out getting some with Spaceship Earth in the background. This was a definite must for me! Guess what! I didn’t upload one of these images to Photobucket, so I will have to edit and add one later.

Just as we started heading towards Italy someone from Disney Floral arrived. It was funny because she started talking about how beautiful my bouquet turned out. She said to me that she was a little worried when she saw the order because she thought it would look like something for a baby shower with all the pastels, but she said when it was finished it looked fantastic!

She easily moved the frames up under the bouquet and then was off to head back to the Living Seas. When she got them on there though one was accidentally turned around (the frames are double sided) so a picture of my dog was showing instead of my grandma! So, my dad and even Randy helped me get the frame reversed. Randy was such a big help all day long with little things like that! They were stuck in with really long pins that weren’t easy to work with especially with nails on!

Here is the final result; this also shows the brooch which was on the front of the bouquet.

Another shot of the bouquet; can you tell that I really loved how it turned out :lovestruc

Finally, we were off towards Italy for our first shots.

We started out on the bridge facing towards the lagoon (does this one in Epcot have an official name?)

At this time, I just kept thinking to myself that I couldn’t believe that it was my wedding day! I also kept reminding myself to enjoy every single second because I know so many people say that the day just flies by; it was so surreal to have everything coming together after all the planning :cloud9:

As you can see in some of these shots it was a beautiful day. After all the things that had gone wrong over the last year God blessed us with a crystal clear day. It ended up being 75 degrees and amazing. There were other days that week where it got pretty chilly and it rained a little every other day. We knew someone who got married at Seabreeze Point the next day and a storm was blowing in during their ceremony

Up next: Even more shots in Italy!

Great pictures!! I'm so glad you were able to appreciate the day as it went. Everything is looking so fabulous.

Gorgeous pictures Vanessa!:cutie:
Thank you; I had a friend make us a slideshow with a couple hundred of the shots and we watched it last night. It was so nice to see them all come together. It was really sweet because as we were watching Kris kept saying how wonderful the day had been and how beautiful he thought I looked :lovestruc

Great pictures!! I'm so glad you were able to appreciate the day as it went. Everything is looking so fabulous.
I really wanted to make sure that I took time to take in all the little details. As much as we had went through over the last year, it was surreal to finally have the day arrive. In the back of my mind I realized that I might not have even made it to that day if the outcome of my accident had been different. It was definitely a day of self-reflection.

It's a great book, I'm sure you'll enjoy it :thumbsup2 The best part is that you can just read a little at the time because they're all short little quick facts.

Thanks, Betsy! I was so happy that the flowers matched so perfectly. Especially since I only had swatches of 3 of the colors to send to Laura, my floral manager.

I have a couple of my "attitude" shots that I haven't posted yet (they are done in a cute and fun way though). When Kris saw some of those, he said he knew that look ;) It's the one that shows I mean business :rotfl:

When I saw that in a bridal magazine I knew I had to do it. It definitely was a nice way to incorporate their memory in a personal way.
