Vancouver Weather question

We're heading to Vancouver from Ireland next week to spend a few days before our Alaska cruise. Looking at the 10 day forecast the weather looks good so will be be comfortable in shorts and sandals or will we need jeans and sweaters

Hi,

Well, right now we are having a warm spell, but you never know when it might rain, so I would bring a pair of pants and a sweatshirt just in case. Plus at night, the temperature can drop a bit so a sweatshirt may come in handy.

The 10 day forecast it seems to be looking good so I'll plan for shorts and sandals with some back up jeans and a sweater

I have a friend that just got back from an Alaskan Cruise and she used her Pants and Sweatshirt a fair bit even though it was hot here ( I live near Vancouver - share the same weather)

So you are going to want to pack a mixture of clothing anyways. Right now it's definitely shorts and t-shirt weather, but the evenings are cool enough you would want a hoodie to go over your shorts and t-shirt.

I'm in Vancouver next week (well one after actually) and then heading to Anchorage for a land tour and 7 night sailing. I am taking a mix of both and for the Alaska part--layers! Be prepared for anything

It can be a bit chilly when the wind picks up by the ocean if you're doing something like walking the seawall. I would take a light sweater to have on hand for that and the evenings.

I second everyone who recommends bringing a jacket. It is beautiful right now, but Vancouver is notorious for changeable weather patterns and ill timed rain showers. I found it a bit chilly last night and would have loved a light sweater. Hopefully it stays beautiful for you, and hope you enjoy our city. If you want any dinner or activity recommendations I can point you in the right direction.
