Vancouver Hotel Rates

We got the Bayshore by Westin with Last Minute Travel for about $160 I think, booked 6 months out. I really, really wanted to stay at the Pan Pacific but the best rate I saw was over $300 per night then it was booked. The Bayshore is basically at the end of the bay, opposite of the port. In hindsight I'm so glad we didn't get the Pan. We saved a bunch of money and were at a very nice hotel. DH and I got up and that morning and jogged (or an easy walk) down to the port, all along the bay and watched The Wonder sail in and dock. It was an amazing experience despite the rain. We took a cab to the port for about $10.

We walked to Red Robin for dinner, it was a really neat location and will eat there again next time.

I booked about 10 months out at the Pan for $364/night cad, direct from their website. I kept watching & it never went lower, only higher. It was a nice room, harbor view...had a wonderful view of the wonder as it came into port and as I waited to get aboard!

The BC resident rate I snagged for the Pan this August was for 335$+tax CAD for 2 rooms. Not the best rate out there, but since I'm not comfortable with blind bidding and the price is now over 475$ I'm pretty happy!

I started out 2 months ago with reservations at the Blue Horizon for one night at a price of $250 USD. But several weeks later (about a month ago) I had an opportunity through my company to get a better deal. I cancelled that reservation and got a room for 4 at the Marriott Pinnacle Downtown for $226 USD ($295 CAD). The room is priced at $427 USD ($558 CAD). My company is in the travel industry so, I got a 30% discount and the company chipped in $100 USD. The Marriott is a nice 4-star hotel a couple of blocks from the cruise terminal.

And just for others that are looking at these prices, all of yours include taxes, fees etc., correct? That was a huge chunk of my cost (nearly 25%) otherwise my room would have been under $220.

Which hotel is better: Blue Horizon or Hampton Inn. Their both located on Robson, HI is $15/night higher but also includes free breakfast and free shuttle to the port.

We booked three rooms at the Ble Horizon on 6/16 for July 2017 for $430usd for 2 nights.

When are you sailing? We're going in three weeks and we will report back on the Blue Horizon when we get back. :)

We did look at Hampton, while it's on Robson, we didn't like the location nearly as well. It's going to be easier for us to walk to a lot of the places we're interested in going while in Vancouver. We also looked at Hotel Blu, which was almost the same price, but again, the location didn't seem as good.

We are on the July 25, 2016 sailing. I booked the Pan Pacific last September through Hotwire. My rate was $177 and with taxes/fees, the total was $228.26.

We are also on the July 25th sailing. However, the decision to do the cruise came about nine months ago. We thus got off to a late start. Plus we were waiting on the outcome of my company's bonus check amount. My daughter lives about 4 hours south of Vancouver, we originally had planned to just drive up that Monday morning. But, when the opportunity availed itself for the big discount at the Marriott we took full advantage and decided to go up a day earlier and do a little sight seeing of Vancouver. I tried to tout the city last year, but got into a big rush and got somewhat lost without a road map and a GPS that couldn't find its way in the concrete jungle of downtown. We only managed to do Grouse mountain.
