Does anyone just have a day room in a hotel

Getting off the cruise so what to do with cases

Notice dcl do vancouver excursion then airport but would be stuck at airport for too long

Notice they have added lion king musical but not there when it is on

Thanks

We have a day room at the Vancouver Fairmont. We leave soon, so I have no idea how it will work out. Once I am back I can let you know.

Why not book a day tour ending at the airport, something like Landsea vacations or Gray Line to Capilano suspension bridge or Grouse mountain?

We were on the Wonder to Alaska in August 2014. We originally planned to store our luggage at the port for the day but found out for $5.00 more total, they would ship our bags to the airport for us. This worked great, we only carried a back pack with us and we were able to walk to Stanley Park, shop, and have a late lunch/ early dinner on the waterfront.
We than took the train to the airport for our 10:00 pm flight.
Vancouver is a great city, very walkable with lot's to see.
Enjoy your cruise.

What company did you use for this?

We rented bikes and rode to Stanley Park the day we got off the ship in Vancouver. We had stayed at the Pan prior to the cruise, so they held our luggage for the day and got us a taxi to go to the airport that afternoon.

That's wonderful to hear! We are also staying at the pan pacific prior to our cruise.

I asked the bellman where we could take our luggage to store it when we got off the ship. He said that we are their guests and would be happy to take care of it. I explained that we would be staying at a hotel near the airport because we had an early flight and he said that they still considered us their guests. When we walked out of the terminal we went to the bell stand outside the door of the Pan in the parking garage and checked our bags. They put them in a row and strung a cable through all the handles to lock them. We got a claim ticket. When we went to pick it up, they insisted on calling a cab over for us and helped to load the bags in the back.

I vote to ship bags and enjoy the city before your flight.
  • 9am walk off ship and ship bags
  • 9:30am look for the free Grouse shuttle
  • 10:15am arrive at Grouse
  • 1pm leave Grouse for Capilano, request shuttle to drop off at Capilano
  • 2:45pm leave Capilano for Vancouver
  • 3:15pm request stop at Stanley Park entrance, walk to the Aquarium and/or railway (long walk for kids... taxi or bus is a second option)
  • 5pm leave park for dinner downtown?
  • 7pm Fly Over Canada?
  • 9pm Bella Gelato?
What time is that flight?

BTW we were off at 7.15 am with express walk off otherwise if you leave luggage to DCL it will be a lot longer.

Bump everything a bit earlier as you need to be at the airport around 5 pm.

As someone else mentioned, there is a baggage storage company right in the cruise terminal. As you exit the terminal, after collecting your bags and going through Customs, it will be on your left, next to the Avis and National/Alamo car rental desks. I would store my luggage with them and then either do the Hop On Hop Off trolley or take one of the free shuttles to either Capilano or Grouse Mountain. The storage company will transport your bags to the airport so you will just need to pick them up when you arrive there and then check them with your airline.
